Initially emailed the hotel and received a prompt reply. Was offered airport transfers at 70 euro return (about £55) but decided to use the metro and the tram which was brilliant, no waiting and only cost equivalent of about £7.50 for 2 people with a 5 minute walk from tram to hotel. The rooms are very basic and small but... More

we stayed a couple nights at the end of pan Turkey trip. As others note: proximity to the major sights is a big plus. But we also really liked the immediate neighborhood, with the street full of bars and moderate eateries. lively yet intimate. Hotel was super clean, efficient, breakfast terrace is very nice. breakfast was good; pretty standard Turkish... More

We stayed for six nights in October. This is a lovely guesthouse with a wonderful top floor terrace. Exceptionally helpful staff. Great location just around the corner from excellent restaurants and only blocks away from sites like Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. The hotel laptop was very handy for checking emails. The breakfasts on the terrace were very good.... More

We stayed at the Sebnem Hotel for 5 nights in October. It was our first trip to Istanbul and the hotel's location was ideal for exploring all of the city's main attractions. The Sebnem was only a few minutes walk, as other have already said, to the Blue Mosque, Cisterns, Palace, etc. Although somewhat touristy, all the restaurants nearby offered... More

This hotel is in an excellent location just 5-10 minutes stroll to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia with many other sights in walking distance. Also you can fall out of the hotel at the end of a busy day and onto a street full of cafes and restaurants. The room we had was very clean, great shower... More

We stayed for 4 hours. Four. Had an 8 hour layover with a baby so we decided to pop into town. Made the reservation the night before by email after emailing 6 hotels (3 replied). They replied immediately and didn't ask for a credit card. Solid. We missed their airport pickup and took our own taxi into town. They didn't... More

It started with the reservation. Prompt answers to my emails, answering all my questions. They also have an airport pick up and drop off service, which is very convenient. Location is perfect, within walking distance of Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar. It is a small hotel, but most important super clean rooms. Water is always available... Small, friendly hotel ideally situated for all the most popular sites. Minutes away from The Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia. Great breakfast on the rooftop terrace with even better views across the Bosphorus. Easy access to the airport by taxi pre booked with the hotel. Would certainly recommend it.

This is my third review of the Sebnem and suffice to say it is still at the top of the class. Spotless, great breakfast, wonderful staff, well situated, a real island of calm in Istanbul. If you are staying in Sultanahmet you can't go wrong at the Sebnem.
