This was our second stay at the Sebnem and we won't even look to stay anywhere else next time we come to Istanbul. It's such a perfect hotel and the location is brilliant - just minutes walk away from the Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Arasta Bazaar. The breakfast on the terrace each morning is one of the... More

I joined 2 friends who were visiting Istanbul and the hotel put a zed bed in their room for me which saved us money. The room was not large but the hotel has a spacious terrace on the top floor so we could sit there if we needed room to relax. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They printed... More

We, and my family before, have staid here several times. To be confirmed: small but very clean room, excellent location, friendly staff, only the super super view on the bosporus is smaller due to new small house before (but still super). We do recommend this small hotel to all our friends being first time in this great town Istanbul, staying... More

We had a great stay at Sebnem. It is within walking distance from all the major sites. The staff are really friendly and arranged all our transfers etc. Although the rooms are a bit small it is very clean, after all you only sleep there. Will Def recommend to all!

The hotel was perfectly situated in Sultanahmet and was less than or equal to a 10 minute walk to most of the major sites in Istanbul including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi and the Cistern. It is just off a main street with many restaurants and stores and is blocks from a small market called Arasta Bazaar.

I found the hospitality and quality of this hotel well worth the cost of the stay. They're helpful with everything from changing money to language assistance to securing transportation. One highlight was the book library in each room and the lobby, allowing visitors to borrow Istanbul materials at no cost. I had one unfortunate incident while trying to get them... More

Very nice and away from the touristic crowd; friendly staff and great selection for breakfast. Prize meets all expectations. Only one negativ thing are the rooms itself- very small due to structure of the building But clean and cute.

This was our forth stay at Hotel Sebnem and we have always enjoyed our stay and we were looking forward to enjoying time on the rooftop terrace. The gentleman who used to give such wonderful service is no longer there and it shows. The terrace itself is in need of some TLC. The cushions weren't put out on the chairs... More

This was my second stay at the Hotel Sebnem. The first was several years ago with friends and this time was with my entire family when we met in Istanbul for a reunion for 6 days. This hotel has one feature that is extremely important to me: a friendly and comfortable public area where we could meet, hang out and... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
