We chose this hotel because of the good reviews in Tripadvisor and found them to be completely accurate: Helpful staff, great location, wonderful breakfast in a scenic setting, comfortable beds. We would stay there again!

Excellent location in the historic area of Istanbul with an attentive staff who spoke English well and were helpful with airport transfers. The included breakfast offers insights into what the locals eat, several types of olives, feta and goat cheese, a variety of cold cuts, rolls, cucumbers, tomatoes, yogurt and several types of cereal along with tea, coffee and juices.... This small hotel had attentive staff who spoke English well. The location is ideal for first time visitors who would like to see the main sites of interest in Sultanahmet. Pros: Very close to Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque, less than 5 min walk. Surprisingly quiet given the location. Prices comparable to other small pensions nearby. Bathroom is not... More

The biggest asset of this guesthouse is the very nice terrace for breakfast, and plenty of things to eat, from nuts to cake, to cereals, fruits, yoghurt, teas, etc. It's also well located, a few minutes walk to the Blue mosque and Aya Sophia. The room we had was very small, but with a cool four-poster bed, a bit of... More

This cozy little hotel is in an excellent location, close to major monuments and public transportation and to a wonderful shopping/eating street. It has a lovely roof-top restaurant with a good breakfast. Rooms are perfectly fine. We spent three nights here in September and thought it measured up to more expensive places we had stayed in on previous trips to... More

We stayed at the Alp on two occasions and enjoyed both stays immensely. While the rooms were on the small side, they were nonetheless comfortable and sparkling clean, likewise the bathrooms. The guys on the desk were always friendly and helpful and twice looked after our luggage, even though there was no specific baggage room provided. The terrace overlooking the... More

The Sultanahmet area is crammed full of similar hotels, and I would put the Alp Guesthouse on par with any other in the area. It is convenient to all of the Sultanahmet sites, as well as to taxis and public transportation. The main street has lots of restaurants to choose from, most serving a similar menu. There is also a... More

Arrived late in the evening and was enchanted by the location. Lovely little room with a four poster bed. Bathroom just right, shower excellent. Someone on duty all day every day. Staff helpful. Make sure you ask for advice on restaurants, as our first night we were ripped off by a nearby fish restaurant. Lokantas serve meals where you choose... More

We had a really nice stay at the Alp Guesthouse. The traditional four-poster bed was nice and the breakfast was really good. We found out that they will make you omelets (which wasn't obvious) but they were glad to provide what was requested. I also asked for a toaster, which he found :-) The desk staff were very helpful in... More
