Well, it was my first time to Istanbul and for me the most important thing was location. The hotel is situated 1 min from the tram station and 3-5 mins from Aya Sofia and Blue mosque. There are plenty of restaurants and there is a Starbucks (I just needed coffee every morning). So if you are looking for the location,... More

Pictures of the room is so much better than reality. I was choosing this hotel because of the good reviews. But now I am getting so much disappointed as it seems like that positive reviews are written by the hotel staff or something like that. The room size is ok but very dirty and not up to standard of 4*... More

I was attracted by it's reasonable price and location. Stepping out of the hotel I am right next to everything I need in sultanahmet, I can see the blue mosque and aya sofia right outside my room window. What really impressed me Is how helpful and welcoming the staff is, the breakfast in the terrace, viewing the historical landmarks while... More

Hotel location in closed street. difficult to find taxi around. just need to walking or use tramway, if you need taxi you should ask them to order it. the rooms is a bit small with expensive price, there is just 1 elevator for 6 or 7 floors, the hotel is old but renovated.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location only since its close to sultan ahmet and rest of the historical places Standard rooms are small, TV screens very small, as well as the channel list in case you have children there's nothing to watch, closest are very small you don't have space to put your things, bathroom very... Great location right in the middle of old city. Five minutes walk from Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar. Friendly helpful staff and comfortable rooms and very nice bathroom. Top floor balcony with views of Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque and Bosporus. Hotel does not serve alcohol.

Not only with in walking distance of some of the greatest sights to see in Istanbul, but it also looks exquisitely stylish with a superb service to go with it. The rooms are super chic and everyday at 4 they have free coffee and tea with sweets for an hour, for the guests. I highly recommend this hotel, not only... More

This hotel combines its excellent location with a traditional turkish design. Everything in the hotel reminds you of a palace! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the cleaning lady was excellent.

What a beautiful Hotel, right in the heart of Old Town. Walking distance to all the major attractions and restaurants. I had one of the rooms with a balcony (room 605) and the views were spectacular. Room was large and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. When visiting Istanbul I had always stayed in another smaller boutique hotel, which was... More

Everything about this hotel is great. Great location, well maintained and extremely helpful staff. We were welcomed by smiles every time we entered the hotel. The rooms are well equipped. The decor is very Turkish giving a very royal feel. The breakfast is also very good and the breakfast area has a view of the Blue mosque and the Hagia... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
