Stayed with friends for 5 nights and it was a great place to stay being a few steps from the tram and walking distance of all the main sights. The tram is far quicker than any taxi and cheap and easy to use with the single price token system. Rooms were clean and adequate, bearing in mind we were out... More

I stayed on the Npmad Hpzeö for onöy 2 days and it was OK but could have been much better considering the price and value of other Hotels next door. Our room was a room for 2 with a private bathroom - although, that bathroom was not all that private since it had a kind of glass door similar to... More

If you are going to stay in Istanbul, stay here. The Nomade's quiet elegance and charm makes for a delightful stay in this magnificent city. The staff are warm and extremely helpful, the ambience is reminiscent of Paris pensions on the Rive Gauche. Best of all, the rooftop terrace features stunning views of the Bosphorus and the Aya Sophia. Watching... More

We arrived at 6am from the airport, with booking of the day with check in time of 2pm. Our room at the time was not free, so the hotel put us up for free in another room, and then moved us there at 2pm (bigger room). ALL FOR FREE. We very much needed that rest that morning before exploring Istanbul.... More

Clean, small rooms. Forget using the shower curtain--there's not enough room for the two of you! Staff very helpful and accommodating. Pickup from airport made the transition to Istanbul easy. Breakfast was excellent--lots of fresh fruits and many items to make it memorable. Lovely to eat breakfast on the outdoor terrace. View has been somewhat spoiled because it no longer... More

Rooms clean and bright for a pension type hotel. Pleasant rooftop b/fast and sunset area. While staff were helpful when asked a question, it was a little disconcerting on leaving and or entering the ''lobby'' each time one left or returned. there's no acknowledgememt at all by whoever was ''on duty'' at the time. Way too busy with heads down... More

The hotel was fine. The location was perfect for walking around to the historical sights. Just a few steps to a view of the blue mosque, everything is so close. The rooftop is nice but small so it can easily get overcrowded. The room wasn't ready when I arrived and it seems as though the person who was in the... More

The location of the Nomade Hotel in the Sultanahmet district was brilliant, incredibly central. A 5 minute walk to the main tourist attractions in the area, The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. 8 minutes to the Grand Bazaar. 10-15 to the Egyptian Spice Market. This central location and the walking distances is great because the traffic in Istanbul can be... More

We stayed here both the first 3 or nights of our trip to Turkey and the last two or 3 nights. It is located near the tram which was ideal for us. It was clean. The price was good. The breakfast was ok. Everything after that pretty much goes to pot. Yes, there are stairs. However, I would say most... More

The only decent thing about this hotel was the location and the views of the Blue Mosque. Our room was booked for 3 people and we were disappointed to get one double bed with one sofa. Furthermore, the room was dark (only one small window), and the floor was caving in which seemed to be a hazard! The staff was... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
