Ararat hotel is a small boutique hotel in the center of the most historical place in Istanbul, Sultanahmet - the best area to stay in Instanbul in my opinion. The hotel is right next to everything you must see when you go to Istanbul < Aghia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque e.t.c. We are a couple and we were upgraded... More

The Ararat Hotel is ideally located in the historical centre of Sultanahmet, within walking distance to most of the historical monuments and museums of Istanbul. The rooms are beautifully decorated, some with stunning views of the great mosque of Sultanahmet, and the rooftop breakfast room has uninterrupted views to both the mosque, on one side, and the Marmara Sea to... Good points first: Pretty much unbeatable location, just steps from Sultanahmet square. Fantastic view of the Blue Mosque from the terrace. Friendly and helpful staff. And the bad: Very loud; you can hear your neighbors whispering in nearby rooms, never mind if they slam a door. Being on the main floor, we could hear everything going on at the front... More

Booking was based on a recommendation of someone who stayed there four years earlier. As seniors, we requested a quiet room and minimal stair climbing. On arrival we were given the key to Room 103 with apologies that it was small. We were appalled when we viewed Room 103 and our request for something else was met with “not possible.”... More

we were unlucky enough to book this place for 2 nights in Sept 14. It was a terrible place. The building was decrepid and a fire trap. The fire escape was through another guests room. If it was occupied I assume it would be locked from the inside which of course totally defeats the purpose. The entrance was a narrow... More

Can be best described as a backpacker hotel. Small bathroom and room(but these 2 things are common in hotels in this area), narrow stairs and expensive breakfast are some of the downers for this place. But the biggest disappointment was the dirty towels they had - otherwise this place is almost the same as other hotels with this price range... More
