I highly recommend this little gem of a boutique hotel. You couldn't ask for a better location if you want to step out from your doorstep into the cultural and historical center of the Sultan Ahmet (hope I spelled that correctly!) district. I was astounded by the views from the two terraces on the top floor: on the one side,... More

Stayed at Ararat hotel for 4 nights this week and can only say good things for the most part! Room was clean, air conditioning was fantastic and the staff members helped me and my girlfriend with anything we needed including restaurant suggestions, booking a Turkish bath for us and organizing our airport shuttle. Fantastic views of sultanahmet from the terrace.... More

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. On arrival the woman at the front desk was so lovely. She spoke excellent English and was very helpful. She upgraded us to a triple room for no extra cost. The room was comfortable with amazing air conditioning, and it was clean. The only downside (which we soon got used to)... More

The best hotel ever!!! I stayed on July,4th 2015 for 5 nights in total! This hotel really recommended for budget traveller. Located in heart of tourism object of Sultan Ahmed. The staff are great, and the General Manager, Miss Demet is very helpful and eager to help us. The room is not too big, but they are more than what... More

Very near the Bazaar and Blue Mosque! Other tourist attractions are walking distance as well. After roaming around the touristy part of Istanbul, I was able to walk just a comfortable distance back to my comfortable hotel. There are many restaurants to chose from nearby and you are really in the heart of it all. The rooms are clean and... More

Very nice and cosy hotel. Very well located in the heart of the old city, behind the Blue mosque. Rooms are small with low ceilings, so tall people watch your heads ;) but adds to the character of the place. Has a nice view on both sides of the hotel with a terrace to enjoy the ambience.

One cannot beat the price, the location (though it has been massive crowds during Ramadan) and the helpful staff. Breakfast was great on their terrace every morning. The call to pray at 3-4 am from the across the street Blue Mosque was a terrific reminder that we "weren't in Kansas anymore". Another great adventure. Thanks

Favorite hotel I have stayed in, anywhere. Great service, incredible location, views to kill for from the fourth floor patio. Breakfast is a delightful spread! The rooms were clean, although I feel some might find them small, but with so much to see and do, who cares? You will not find a better hotel for the price! I plan on... More

lets start with the good things: the staff are so good and friendly and english speakers, the location is two minutes from the blue mosque and the tram station, also this advantage is not that good one because you will get up from your deep sleep when the "caller for prayer" start calling, five times a day. the rooms are... Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
