The staff were very helpful & courteous. the location is more than perfect, 2 min from Sultan Ahmet, Hagia Sophia, ect etc, everything is soo closee. The manager gave us tickets for transportation, maps and definitely great advice how to spent our days in Istanbul. I felt like home with the friendly reception guys. PS. This little, family run, cozy hotel is perfect for couples, has an aura of romanticism and the people running the place makes you feel at home. Depending on the time of year you visit is how the prices are going to be. The place offers included breakfast at the top floor with views of the Marmara or the Blue Mosque.... More

The location couldn't be better. Rooftop terrace overlooked the Blue Mosque. 5 to 10 minute walk to all major sights in Sultanhamet. Rooms are unique but tiny, no TV. Don't bother asking for extra blankets if you get cold (we were there in October and nights get cold), they said they didn't have any and we asked twice.

First of all, we thank the management for the upgrade from double room to family room. It's on the second floor, with the most beautiful view of Sultanahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque). The room style is shabby chic. Not for those who like to pick on small imperfection like chapped paint. Location is very ideal, there are two minimarkets just a... More

I went to Istanbul by my own, I didn't know anyone there, and Ararat hosts where really nice and hospital with me. First, they give me a beautiful room, specially because it was my birthday and I asked for a nice view room, they were really kind with me. Then, the breakfast was perfect, the location of the hotel is... More

My third stay at Ararat Hotel and it is beginning to feel like my home in Istanbul. My best room thus far is on the top next to the bar, lounge and terraces where breakfast is served and you can hang out at any time watching the changing colours of the Bosphorous or the Blue Mosque. For people who want... More

I highly recommend this little gem of a boutique hotel. You couldn't ask for a better location if you want to step out from your doorstep into the cultural and historical center of the Sultan Ahmet (hope I spelled that correctly!) district. I was astounded by the views from the two terraces on the top floor: on the one side,... More

Room was clean, air conditioning was fantastic and the staff members helped me and my girlfriend with anything we needed including restaurant suggestions, booking a Turkish bath for us and organizing our airport shuttle. We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel. On arrival the woman at the front desk was so lovely. She spoke excellent English and was very helpful. She upgraded us to a triple room for no extra cost. The room was comfortable with amazing air conditioning, and it was clean. The only downside (which we soon got used to)... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
