Reasonably priced hotel in tourist conveient Sultanhamet area, but most of the non-touristy restaurants and bars are a cab ride away and Istanbul traffic can be HORRIBLE. The roof deck was great and breakfast was delicious.... more

Based on friends' recommendations and Tripadvisor reviews, we booked 5 nights at the Empress Zoe at the beginning of our 24-day trip to Turkey. Knowing we would be jet-lagged we opted for the hotel transfer service at 25 Euros and it was money well spent. Check-in was smooth and we liked our room, the Cistern Suite. The call to prayer... more

Although we visited I believe two years ago...a friend asked for a recommendation and I thought I must post for others. My husband was on conference, but we decided to stay in the historic district- what a great choice!! The location is fantastic, accommodations- just lovely...we stayed in the double honeymoon suite with a gorgeous view of Aya Sophia. The... more

The stuff at this beautiful small hotel made a first good impression as they replied within one hour on my reservation request on short notice. We have stayed for two days and would have liked to stay longer. Each room is decorated individually and with love to detail. It is not modern, but clean and with lot of ambiance. We... more

We paid plenty of cash for a nice room with a Turkish bath and were greeted by a cool reception when we found our room wasn't yet ready to check in to in the afternoon. We were told to leave our bags and when we came back after dinner, we found our bags were still there and the new receptionist... more

We stayed at Empress Zoe from 29th August to 5th September and we loved every minute of our stay. We had arranged a car to pick us up from the airport which went very smoothly. The hotel itself is very unique. It is decorated using local materials in Ottoman style which is part of the charm of the place. Breakfast... more

I was very impressed by Empress Zoe. The location is great (4 blocks from Hagia Sophia and 4 blocks from Bosphorus). The rooms are clean and comfortable. Really everything about the hotel was great. This is definitely a great hotel for someone looking for a charming boutique hotel instead of a large traditional hotel, for it doesn't have room service... more

When we go back to Istanbul we will definitely stay at the Empress Zoe again. Great location (walking distance to all the major sights and the tram), quiet, our room had plenty of space for us and our two teenage kids, charming atmosphere, helpful staff, one of the best breakfasts we had on our month long trip. The rooftop garden... more

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days on our honeymoon. We loved it- it is in the perfect location, within walking distance to all the major historical sights of Sultanahmet. The courtyard/garden is SO peaceful and is a great place to sit and relax. Breakfast was great, too, and the people working there were very helpful. Do be... more
