I loved this charming, down-to-earth hotel, which I sought out because of the raves on Trip Advisor--so I'm just adding my voice to the chorus of positive reviews... The location can't be beat in terms of proximity to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, etc. And there's no shortage of great food nearby. For shopping, Arasta Bazaar... I think the thing that struck me about this hotel was its very friendly atmosphere. It was somewhere I could happily hang out with a book all day. It just felt "nice". Right down to more practical things. Location. It is a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. it is a bit hilly and a bit... More

Everyone should experience a hotel stay like we did at Hotel Empress Zoe. What a treat! We visited during the low season so the hotel was only 50% booked. At 170€/night it was a steal. The front desk, "bar" and other staff were so congenial and helpful whenever we had a question. Their recommendations were almost always spot-on. We stayed... More

We picked this hotel after a Trip advisor search. We now see how important Trip advisor is for the traveller. The hotel is a gem, amazing location, lovely caring staff and everything you want for your holiday in old Byzantium. We liked the reception, the bar and especially our room with its balcony overlooking the private garden. We even liked... More

Terrific little hotel in a fantastic location. Great room with its own sitting room, and small terrace. Very friendly staff with lots of advice on getting around. Excellent location so you can walk to most sights, with many restaurants near by. We'll definitely stay there next time we are in Istanbul.

This entire hotel was fabulous. Our family of four stayed in the "Penthouse." It is the top floor with a private roof deck terrace. Views were spectacular. The shower was incredible. The rest of the hotel was also extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the garden of the dining area. The food was delicious. The staff could not have been nicer. Also,... More

This boutique hotel is in the heart of the Sultanahmet tourist area. A couple of minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc. Staff were great. I had a "grand double" room with a four poster bed, wooden floors, and ensuite. Lovely firm mattress, had a very good sleep. Room has a refrigerator (not a minibar), a room safe,... More

We had 5 days in Istanbul and it was our first visit so wanted to be in the old town and wanted to feel in Turkey and not in a generic hotel. Decided to splash out and chose the penthouse with its view and terrace and space. Great choice as far as we were concerned. It was a few minutes... More

If you want to immerse yourself in the culture and daily life of Istanbul - then this is for you. We stayed in Istanbul for a number of days in different trips and have tried many hotels - and this is definitely the best in the city. They excel in all areas of room comfortability & staff service. A beautiful... More

The staff at the hotel were friendly but particularly helpful with quick communication prior to arriving in Istanbul. There were four of us travelling we stayed in the Chez Zoe Garden Suite and it was comfortable for us- the only thing I would say is that in the double bed our backs were a little sore in the morning perhaps...
