We stayed four nights in the Courtyard Suite, Villa Zoe. Hotel located within very easy walking distance of major sites in Sultanahmet, the tramstop and a variety of eateries. Feeling of oasis of calm and privacy is engendered by higgledy-piggledy arrangement of the different areas of the hotel, including the former hamam, set around the tranquil garden. Staff are friendly,... More

We had 3 nights and 2 days in Istanbul and wanted to get a real taste of the city. This charming hotel was ideal to do just that. In the heart of Sultanahmet, nearly abutting the wall of Topkapi- it affords you the opportunity to experience Istanbul and all of its charms. We were able to walk most places. It... More

I stayed at empress Zoe for 2 nights in Istanbul. I was travelling on my own. The hotel has a brilliant location - a quick walk to the blue mosque and aya Sofya. The staff were very friendly. My room was lovely. Great breakfast - especially the warm flaky pastry with spinach and feta type cheese. I did a day... More

Heard great things about this hotel when planning my trip, and it did not disappoint at all. My room was lovely & comfortable (though the fish restaurant across the street had a very, very bright flashing light that stayed on until at least 11pm, but that's hardly their fault & I dealt) & like so many others have said, the... Istanbul has two centres - the modern city north of the Golden Horn inlet and the historic city on the peninsula south of it. Most of what tourists want to see, certainly on a first visit, is on the southern peninsula, and this hotel is right in the heart of it, only about 300m from Hagia Sophia, the number 1... More

I loved this charming, down-to-earth hotel, which I sought out because of the raves on Trip Advisor--so I'm just adding my voice to the chorus of positive reviews... The location can't be beat in terms of proximity to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, etc. And there's no shortage of great food nearby. For shopping, Arasta Bazaar... I think the thing that struck me about this hotel was its very friendly atmosphere. It was somewhere I could happily hang out with a book all day. It just felt "nice". Right down to more practical things. Location. It is a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. it is a bit hilly and a bit... More

Everyone should experience a hotel stay like we did at Hotel Empress Zoe. What a treat! We visited during the low season so the hotel was only 50% booked. At 170€/night it was a steal. The front desk, "bar" and other staff were so congenial and helpful whenever we had a question. Their recommendations were almost always spot-on. We stayed... More

We picked this hotel after a Trip advisor search. We now see how important Trip advisor is for the traveller. The hotel is a gem, amazing location, lovely caring staff and everything you want for your holiday in old Byzantium. We liked the reception, the bar and especially our room with its balcony overlooking the private garden. We even liked... More

Terrific little hotel in a fantastic location. Great room with its own sitting room, and small terrace. Very friendly staff with lots of advice on getting around. Excellent location so you can walk to most sights, with many restaurants near by. We'll definitely stay there next time we are in Istanbul.
