We stayed at the Empress Zoe for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The hotel is situated a couple of minutes walk from the main sights of the city but still feels secluded and peaceful. We enjoyed having breakfast in the garden and the roof terrace has amazing views. Very helpful staff and overall a lovely atmosphere. Couldn't... More

This was our second visit to Istanbul and second visit to the Empress Zoe. The staff were as welcoming and friendly as we recalled from our first visit in 2008. The location, right in the heart of Sultanahmet but on a relatively quiet street, is superb. Why, then, three stars? Because the hotel has not kept up with technology and... More

I stayed at The Empress Zoe for 5 nights in January, a great respite enroute from Nairobi, Kenya to Denver, Colorado, U.S. A.The Empress Zoe is an intimate gem on a uniquely quiet street in the heart of Istanbul's (very) Old City, tucked beside the Four Seasons Hotel and between the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Byzantium City Walls of... I stayed here for three nights en route to Scotland from China and it was the perfect base for exploring the city. With thick snow everywhere its location was ideal as everything is within easy walking distance and the tram is easily accessible. The staff were super helpful, room warm and cosy and breakfast plentiful. I would definitely stay again.... More

This was a hotel we had our eye on months before we got to Istanbul and we were certainly not disappointed. We loved this hotel and are happy to recommend it to anybody we know traveling to Istanbul (which we already have, actually). First of all the location is perfect. Just a very short walk to the Topkapi Palace and... More

At Empress Zoe, we stayed in room 202, a standard room facing the garden. In January, the room looked like its picture on the website. Now that we came as guests, we were not as happy with the room as we expected. The Turkish bedspread had disappeared and other decorations shown on the website were gone as well, not to... More

What a wonderful little boutique hotel in the center of old Byzantium. The hotel was serene and charming with a very attentive staff. It's definitely worth it to stay in a room with a terrace, because the courtyard is a beautiful little garden with a fantastic view of the Sea of Marmara and the Asian side of the city. We... More

We stayed four nights in the Courtyard Suite, Villa Zoe. Hotel located within very easy walking distance of major sites in Sultanahmet, the tramstop and a variety of eateries. Feeling of oasis of calm and privacy is engendered by higgledy-piggledy arrangement of the different areas of the hotel, including the former hamam, set around the tranquil garden. Staff are friendly,... More

We had 3 nights and 2 days in Istanbul and wanted to get a real taste of the city. This charming hotel was ideal to do just that. In the heart of Sultanahmet, nearly abutting the wall of Topkapi- it affords you the opportunity to experience Istanbul and all of its charms. We were able to walk most places. It... More

I stayed at empress Zoe for 2 nights in Istanbul. I was travelling on my own. The hotel has a brilliant location - a quick walk to the blue mosque and aya Sofya. The staff were very friendly. My room was lovely. Great breakfast - especially the warm flaky pastry with spinach and feta type cheese. I did a day... More
