The Kybele hotel is famous for its unique atmosphere, plenty of Turkish lamps everywhere (in each and every room), cozy furniture and great staff. It's also very well located in the heart of old Istanbul (Sophia, Blue Mosque etc. are about 1-2 minutes to walk). If you really want to feel the nature of Istanbul the Kybele art hotel is... more

The Kybele is famous for its lamps. All rooms have a special light, due to 50 or more Lamps per room on the floor. The Lobby and the Cafe are also very tasteful with loads of old things like grammophon, old cameras, books and so on. The basic colour inside is red, the outside walls are green, blue – all... more

There are many lumps hunged from the top in the lobby, room and restaurant and it made me feel so romantic. I enjoyed breakfast buffet, especially liked soup.(it changed everyday) All staffs are very kind and friendly. Some could speak Japanese, so they helped me a lot. The kybele hotel is very near Sulutanahmet Camii ,Ayasophia and also Grand Bazzar. more

What a one of a kind decorating scheme, lamps everywhere. I had flight problems and they were very accomodating with my transport from the airport when I telephoned them and there was no problem with English. The room had air conditioning and enough room to feel comfortable spending time in. There was room for the two of us, our suitcases,... more

I stayed at Kybele for three nights when I squeezed in a fun trip at the back end of a work trip that took me through Istanbul. I sent an email inquiring into the room rates and their staff got back to me within an hour or so. The room was incredibly affordable. I had an added complication because my... more

As a frequent international business traveler, it is always a welcome relief to find an interesting place to stay. The decor, antiques, colors, textures, and hanging lanterns from the ceilings create an beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. This family run hotel exemplifies Istanbul and its history of east meets west (for example, the combination of antique furniture and recently made recycled... more

The Kybele is a small, excellently run, hotel in Old Istanbul. It is just a block or two from all the major sites. The hotel is so unique because of its antiques and very unusual decor with thousands of Turkish ceiling light. I am sure that every guest in the hotel had the opportunity to meet the owner who was... more

I saw the pictures of the Kybele on the website and i knew i had to stay there. It looked so beautiful with its rich colors, lanterns and cozy clutter of antiques. It was even better in person. The decor is the real star here - it is ridiculously charming from the rooms to the lobby to the little hidden... more

This hotel was a fantastic time. The staff was friendly, the food was great and the rooms were unique. Our room was small and the shower would be considered tight by many but the hotel is so unique that I'd highly recommend it. It has all of these antique lamps hanging for the ceilings all over the hotel (even your... more
