when you enter the kybele hotel you feel like being in a turkish private house of many years ago. the hotel was infact a family house during the past and has few rooms. the furniture, carpets, curtains are pieces of an antiques shop since the previous owners also owned an antiques shop next to the hotel. the most peculiar things... This hotel has been around for a long time and has been beautifully cared for. Every ceiling has lights hanging that cover the entire ceiling and they are beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are plush and beautiful. The meals are lovely and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel could not be in... More

4th stay in this eclectic, atmospheric jewel. Location absolutely superb as is the service. Many thanks again to Vefa. If you like clean lines and spacious bathrooms, this will not be your cup of mint tea. The Kybele is crammed full of interesting and precious knick knacks, the rooms are mind-bogglingly ‘busy’ and the bathrooms take some manoeuvring around but... More

We recently spent two nights at the Kybele. On the way to and from Morocco. Great, Quirky hotel. Small and well run. Delicious food. Suberb location. Walking distance from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Basilica Cistern. A short tram ride from the Grand Bazaar.

This is one of my favorite hotels, the staff are lovely, the rooms are cozy and well decorated and I love the yogurt at Breakfast. Vefa is fabulous and try and meet the brothers that originally built and owned the hotel for so many years. I will always come back, it is my favorite.

There were three of us travelling, with two of us sharing a twin and one in a single. What an absolutely brilliant hotel is Kybele!! Quirky, enchanting, jam-packed with character and right in the heart of where we wanted to be. The hotel team were just brilliant! They were friendly, very helpful and had a great sense of humour! We spent four nights at the Kybele Hotel and had a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and very attentive. They assisted us with taxi service and answered all our questions. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated in Turkish style. We had a patio overlooking the street allowing us to enjoy Istanbul living. The restaurant food was fabulous with... More

We loved this hotel where we stayed for seven nights. It was gorgeous in its appearance - willed with lovely lamps hanging from every ceiling, quirky pieces of furniture, decoration and nick backs, with incredibly helpful and pleasant staff, ablaut breakfast each morning, a roof top restaurant with good range of well priced and good quality food and a spacious,... Hotel Kybele cannot be beaten on location and service. It puts you bang in the middle of Sultanahmet, a minute or two from the key sights - Ayia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Yerebatan cisterns, Sultanahmet Square and only another ten minutes by foot to the Grand Bazaar and the Spice (Egyptian) Bazaar. Taksim is about 45 minutes by foot, across the... More
