stayed 4 nights at Villa Zurich in June "meet & greet" transport available from airport at €35 which is probably more than taxi but good when you are new to the city. Great location in Cijangir which is 5-10 minute walk to Taksim & Istaklal street. Reasonably easy to get to get to old city either bu funicular down to... more

Overall: Compare this hotel to a UK Travelodge. No frills with all requested mod-cons. Location: Great location with ample options for eating & drinking nearby. 10 minutes walk to Taksim Square. 15 minutes taxi ride to Sultanahmet where all the historical sites are located. Room: Good size and well furnished. We had rooms 201 & 202 which overlooked the front... more

We stayed four nights at the Villa Zurich and found it to be clean and comfortable but offered minimal services and personality. Those looking for a 3+ star hotel will likely be disappointed but if you arrive with the right expectations, clean and basic 2/2+ star, it is certainly an acceptable place to stay. Our room was small and really... more

This hotel was great and far exceeded my expectations. I was traveling with my boyfriend who was there for business and was initially disappointed that the location of the hotel was so far from the majority of the tourist attractions - but now I am SO happy we stayed at Hotel Zurich! The area around the hotel is amazing with... more

Stayed here for 5 nights, with a friend, at the end of May. We were initially given a room near a nightclub with air con that didn't work. Hotel staff provided a fan but the noise was still pretty bad. We then switched to another room that had working air con and was much quieter. There was a slightly stale/sewery... more

After five days in Istanbul, we came to the conclusion that our hotel, Villa Zurich, was located on possibly the most attractive street in the most attractive area in the city - right in the heart of newly-gentrified Cihangir in Beyoglu. Whilst not particularly convenient for the big sights on the other side of the Golden Horn in Sultanahmet (although... more

I really like this place. It's best for people who have been to Istanbul before, already stayed in Sultanahmet, and are now coming back wanting to stay on the Beyoglu side of the Golden Horn. The neighborhood is both charming and very close to Taksim Square and Istiklal Caddesi. The resturant on the roof, though expensive, is very good and... more

Recently refurbished, it was very clean and had wide rooms and also a big bathroom. Breakfast buffet was a bit monotonous but the views from the top of the building were incredibly beautiful. It turns to a fish restaurant at night frequented by locals, the food is very good. However be prepared to pay by 60-70 lira with wine. Staff... more
