I found this hotel by searching Trip Advisor. It was a very good choice. The location is ideal: in the lower sector of Sultanahmet, right at the entrance to a short road that leads to the Topkapi and Hagia Sofia! The hotel is rather charming, well-constructed and maintained. The rooms are very nice, well decorated, very good beds, good AC,... More

The breakfast room is on the top floor with stunning views out over Istanbul. Staff are excellent. Good dining room and great Turkish breakfast. So close to all the places to see in Sultanahmet , close to the restaurant strip.

This is a great small hotel. Right next to the Topkapi Palace in Sultanahmet. Our room was on the smaller side but was impeccably clean. Service was great; front desk extremely helpful with travel tops; breakfast was excellent and amazing views from dining area; wifi in room. Great value. Would recommend Valide Sultan Konagi to anyone who enjoys boutique hotels.

We have had a wonderful stay at this lovely, friendly hotel. Mahmut and his staff truly treated us and our party like family. The hotel's rooms were very nicely decorated and comfortable with all you could require. The rooftop restaurant with panoramic views of Istanbul, the Bosphorus, Islands, Hagia Sophia-being just a stone's throw away!, serving delicious Turkish dishes by... More

We have stayed at and visited this fine hotel twice, as well as having enjoyed their excellent restaurant a number of times. There is no better location for visiting the Sultanahmet District with the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Arasta Bazaar, the Topkapi Palace, and many other museums and historic sites. The staff are extremely supportive and kind. They... More

Located 2 minutes away from Topkapi palace, the hotel is very nice. The building is completely renovated and appears as a typical ottoman house. The staff is very kind and especially Ferdi is ready to assist you at any moment with a lot of practical information about the city, the services and whatever else you might need. He can give... We have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay for our 25th wedding anniversary and joint 50th with a group of 18 friends. Mahmut, in reception was an absolute star and couldn't do enough for us, arranging our fabulous boat trip, giving us company and guidance around Istanbul, arranging transport to wherever we wanted which was no mean feat... We came across this lovely hotel by happenstance and stopped in for a glass of wine after touring the historic sites. Restaurant manager Rambo escorted us to the balcony terrace with its panoramic views. Delightful hour spent overlooking the Bosphorus. Will certainly book our this hotel for our next visit to Istanbul.

This family run hotel is great, the staff treat you as though you are part of the family with all of them having been there a number of years, the location is as good as it gets in Istanbul, literally 100 metres from the main attractions. The rooms were spotless, and the shower great, breakfast each day was excellent, huge choice,... More

They were much better than expected. Everyone went out of their way to help us in many ways. Location was great, near many mosques. Would stay there again. The breakfast had a great selection of food.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
