Stayed for three nights at Ayasofya, highly recommend it. The hotel was very clean, beds comfortable, and the service was great. Unlike some places the staff were more than helpful with any queries we had, specially regarding the places to visit and how to get there. Our accomodation included breakfast and a good variety of food was provided, even the... more

My friend and I arrived at the Ayasofya hotel at the tail end of a 3-week, 5-country vacation and it was the perfect place to stay for the final 3 days of our trip. We wanted something quiet and cozy, yet still in walking distance to all of the big attractions. Our 3rd floor room was smallish but very clean,... more

Ayasofya hotel is an excellent choice for those wanting to stay within walking distance of all the great attractions--Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Grand and Spice Bazaar, etc. The staff was wonderful. Gaye even recommended a hammam for us, and went so far as to provide us with a scrub, and to personally walk us there. Other staff members... more

Gaye, Ceyhun and Erdal are 3 people who help make staying at the Ayasofya a lovely experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, without being too intrusive, and you can experience a home away from home while staying there. They are immediately ready to offer advice on how best to see Istanbul tailored personally to the client. The hotel is in... more

We had a wonderful five day stay at Ayasofya. The front desk gentleman was especially helpful and cordial. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. Our suite was very nice and comfortable. The location is superb, which allowed us to walk nearly everywhere. We enjoyed many of the neighborhood restaurants and stores.... more

We found Gaye and the staff incredibly helpful with our stay in Istanbul and in planning our itinerary for the rest of Turkey. The Anzac Day celebration she organised will live in our memories for ever. It was the icing on the cake. more

Fantastic stay in June 2010 with a wonderful host and great staff. Gaye Reeves was lovely and "Bullant" on the front desk was incredibly helpful and deserved a good tip. When we were speaking to him as we were leaving I complimented him on the job he does and he told me " I love my job". What else could... more

We have nothing but praise for every aspect of this hotel. The manager Gaye Reeves was so helpful to all her guests and clearly ensured that her staff provided the same standard of service. We had a Delux room which was spacious, beautifully decorated and quiet. The location in Sultanahmet was perfect as we were close to everything but secluded... more

We were recommended this place by friends of the owner/proprietor Gaye Reeves. It was an inspired recommendation. The hotel is well located for easy access to the major historical attractions, but at the same time is nestled within a neighbourhood providing a local flavour. The rooms are not grand but are well appointed, comfortable and meticulously clean. Staff service was... more
