I stayed in oneof the three apartments at the Ayasofya Hotel with my wife and young daughter and we had a wonderful time. The staff members were kind and welcoming and they were fantastic with my daughter - especailly Erdal the Reception Manager. The Hotel was comfortable and cosy, close to the Blue Mosque,Cucuk Ayasofya and only a short walk to... more

Gaye Reeves and the Ayasofya Hotel staff will make you feel at home... The rooms are very well preserved and arranged, the price for first days of December was quite reasonable, and its placement near from the Ayasoya mosque, Blue mosque and many others atractions make the Ayasofya Hotel an excellent choice to sleep and spend your time in Istanbul more

From the first email to Gaye (the Australian Manager) I knew I was going to love staying at the Ayasofia. Our booking was very complicated, but Gaye reassured me that it wasn't a problem and was very generous by suggesting that I didn't need to book the hotel for the night prior to our 9 am arrival, because she would... more

Gaye and the team at Ayasofya Hotel made our time in Turkey absolutely sensational. They couldn't do enough to help us out and we came to feel like part of the family. The environment was so friendly, guests would share stories and experiences over a tea with Gaye overlooking the Istanbul vista from the rooftop terrace. Absolutely stunning! The rooms... more

Perfectly located in the heart of Sultanahmet (the tourist center of Istanbul), a stone's-throw from The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and a number of other historical sights. The staff were very professional, but also very warm and welcoming. I know how cliched this sounds but they genuinely did make us feel like part of the family. They seemed to conduct... more

We had a 3 night stay in this lovely old hotel & couldn't have enjoyed it more. Gaye & her team showed us hospitality that was second to none & the hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the great sites of Istanbul. With the tram stop just a short walk from the hotel we were able to cram so much... more

I stayed at the Ayasofya for roughly a week in October. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was traditional Turkish but also provides Aussie alternatives such as vegemite on toast and cereals. The location is within easy walking distance from the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and other main attractions. Children are treated very well and the rooms... more

I have just spent one month in Turkey with my family and we spent about 3 weeks in the Ayasofya hotel. Rarely have we been to a hotel with such character! All the staff are incredibly friendly and were even able to help us plan an itinerary throughout Turkey. The hotel is also located within a few minutes walk from... more
