The hotel as such is not bad, but from the reception our group of 25 was given a warm recommendation for a near- by restaurant where we were subject to a blatant rip-off. Some sort of collaboration seems to be in place here. That incident really spoiled our group's trip to Istanbul, in addition to the financial loss of several... More

Location was great near to taksim sq. Only I can say the breakfast was great but it was in the basement floor so u can imagine not a good atmosphere or view! The pool was not good cause its depth area was maybe a whole area!!! Spa and turkish bath was expensive But this hotel has a great bar! U... More

That was good I traveled to this hotel and I was so relaxed thanks to many reasons: Firstly, the lobby man named Hasan was so kind and attractive, The rooms were so clean and modern, And finally, everything was nice and shine, I do like it and suggest to any body who wants to travel to istanbul. With Love, Soroush

Well, I booked Taksim Gonen Hotel for one night. We reached there late night. Experienced a cold reception behaviour (unlike other Taksim hotels). But the daytime staff was really better and helpful. The bell boy was available at the time of check in but we were not offer any help in arranging our luggage. Hotel location was quite good. Very... More

We stayed at the Taksim Gonen hotel for 3 nights in October while touring Turkey with Riviera Travel. This is a traditional hotel in the centre of the Beyoglu area of Istanbul which is on the European side of the city. We stayed in Room 1107 on the first floor which was a bit small but comfortable. It had twin... More

We enjoyed this hotel which is in a convenient part of Istanbul, if there is a convenient part in such a vast city! The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a compact hotel for the amount of people that stay there and the breakfast room gets very crowded as it isn't big. If you hit a really busy time it... More

We spent 3 nights here a couple of weeks ago on a VJV tour and overall we were very pleased with their choice of hotel. Our room was very big, the "double" bed, really two large singles pushed together, was huge plus there was a single bed which was handy for our cases as there were no racks to put... More

This is my second visit to Istanbul in a span of one month. Fortunately this time the hotel was far better than the first one , although, there is not much difference in the rates. The Taksim Gonen hotel, is located only 150 meters from the heart of Istanbul,( the Taksim square), and it enjoys a commanding location very close... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
