"The Hotel Yasmak Sultan is centrally located about 15 minutes walk from the Old Bazaar, the Haghia Sophia and the basilica Cistern. The Topkapi palace is also a very short five minute taxi ride away. The hotel is one of the best hotels in old historic Istanbul and It is a very famous hotel known to locals in a quiet... More

Apart from being well located this hotel was just a bit small for the two of us.It was clean, ageing , service was good and the reception staff were well informed. The Sultania (attached to the Yasmak ) is a better option. Lots of restaurants around and a great central location.

We have been delighted with the service and assistance provided by the staff of the Yasmak Sultan Hotel. They went out of their way to help us with an emergency and we cannot praise them enough. The room was very comfortable and had everything we could need.

Excellent location, clean, excellent breakfast , nice roof restaurant, excellent staff . My family spent 3 nice nights. Corner double rooms are of better size. The success of this hotel is due to its outstanding staff performance especially Mr. Engin (NO.1) the man of the reception.public relation lady and the cook lady in breakfast.

I stayed her for four nights in August in a standard room with breakfast. The room I had was on the top floor (2515) and looked nothing like all the pictures, I am taking a guess that I had one of the oldest rooms in the building and the ones in the pictures are refurbished ones however it didn't bother... We have stayed here for one night just before flying to KL. I will highlight the pluses and the minuses this restaurant has: 1. Location is great close to Topkapi and Sultanahmet so you can't expect a better place to stay if you are a tourist 2. Room: we had a standard non-smoking room but there was a heavy smell... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
