That was my first time in Istanbul and I'm very happy that I choose Armada Hotel ! We have Tango-festival in this hotel. The place was so nice and people working there were very kind. I am russian fashion journalist and I'm very spoilt by lux hotels in many countries but I really loved this cosy and calm place in... More

The hotel is very well situated, close to major attractions, sheets and bathrooms very clean, decorated in an elegant style, it has a wonderful view from the terrace and breakfast is plenty and interesting. Standard rooms are moderately sized, but not uncomfortable.

We enjoyed our short stay in Istanbul very much and the Armada Hotel did not let us down. Our room was lovely, very clean and well equipped with the little extras like cotton dressing gowns, slippers and a well stocked fridge! The buffet breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to. It was just out of this world, so... More

The Armada was recommended to us and we had stayed twice both for 2 days at either end of a trip to Turunc. The location is in Sultan Ahmet the old town of Istanbul, ideally placed for the Blue Mosque, Hagii Sofia, Cisterns, Grand and Spice Bazaars. The restaurant has views over the Bosphorous on one side and the Blue... More

Excelent atmospheric hotel in a very good location near to Ayasofia and all the other nuseums. Nice restaurant in terrace. The view from there is wonderful. All the places of the hotel, reception, etc and of cource the rooms are excelent. The only suggestion is to have more variaty in breakfast.

The Armada is nicely situated within the historic district, but enough apart to be quiet. It's a short uphill walk to the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sophia and a tram that you can take to other parts of the city. The rooms are charming and very comfortable and the bathrooms very nice. The terrace dining area is a very... More

My spouse and I felt at home in the Armada since the very begining of our stay. Everything works perfectly, but the essence of achievement would not be enough if the attention of everyone there wouldn’t have been so kind and cooperative.

Armada hotel is located at the probably best position in Istanbul. The history peninsula is exactly the place one wants to stay at. Not central while central is probably a good definition of the location. 5 minutes from Hagia Sofia, from the Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace , Armada Hotel is a place to remember. Beautiful rooms and general... More

Situated just inside the Byzantine sea wall, the Armada is nicely placed for sightseeing in Istanbul. The rooms are comfortable and modern with pleasant Turkish touches, so you know you are in Turkey. Excellent staff at reception. The rooftop restaurant and terrace give a magnificent panorama of the Blue mosque and historic sights as well as of fishing boats and... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
