My wife and I spent four nights here upon arrival in Istanbul, followed by a single night later in the trip. After four weeks in Turkey we came to the conclusion that staying in older, boutique style accommodation would require making allowances for occasionally quirky conversions. In this case, the hotel appears to be three separate dwellings now amalgamated, so... More

Had a great time! Nice breakfast spread and the location is close to the historic Istanbul.. Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia.. walkable. The hotel offers travel guides & travel agency numbers for daily plans. It's helpful for the ones visiting Istanbul for the 1st time. There are nearby shops to buy gifts..

Great hotel in a terrific area. Staff very helpful with advice. If you like a bigger room ask as we only discovered the bewigged and better rooms on our second visit to this hotel. Great breakfasts and staff willing to help with tea or coffee throughout day.

Stayed here for my birthday in November with my boyfriend. As we were there in low season, we were given a room on the third floor overlooking the Aya Sofya, which was a wonderful view and helped to make my birthday trip special. The room was quite small, but it was adequate, especially for the unbeatable price and it was... More

We were 7 adults spent 4 nights in this beautiful and cozy hotel. We were in rooms 216-210-211-213. They prepared early check-in and allocated us superior instead of standards rooms (we booked standard rooms) without extra charge. that were very kind of them and I really appreciate the manager. The location as you can see on map is excellent and... More

As a charming hotel at the heart of the touristic neighbourhood, the first thing you really enjoy at the Celal Sultan Hotel is the location. You can reach most of the "Must See" sites by foot! This is very useful in a city like Istanbul where the traffic can quickly become painful! On top of it, the room was comfortable,... More

I love Istanbul and have stayed here a few times over the last 15 years. it never disappoints. One or two rooms have a view of Hagia Sophia which is an added bonus. Lots of advice is happily given on transport, sights and restaurants.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
