My father (90 years) and I had a 6 night stay and found its location was fantastic, down a small enough side street that it was quiet but close enough that all the delights of Sultanahmet were an easy walk. Rooms were clean and spacious for Sultanahmet, hot water plentiful and had great pressure, service was well above par. The... More

Fantastic location, walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar. Close to tramline for travel to Taksim using the funicular. Great staff, especially Ibrahim, the bellboy. We stayed for two nights after a cruise, then two nights away to Cappadocia, then two more nights at Celal Sultan. Our first room was accessed via a spiral staircase, but... More

I had mixed feelings when I was reading the various reviews about this hotel. I am glad I trusted the good reviews as my experience was only positive. I booked this hotel for me and my parents for a short holiday and stayed there for about 5 days. I was kindly upgraded to a better room, upon a request, than... More

This is a very conveniently located hotel in the old city area of Istanbul. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Rooms are small but adequately appointed for a mid price range hotel in an expensive city. Breakfast is generous. Dinner menu in the top floor Terrace Restaurant is limited, but the view is fabulous!

The hotel is just a short walk from the Blue Mosque and Agia Sofia, and is friendly and comfortable. Make sure to take the time to visit the Mosque Suleiman - arguably more impressive than the Blue Mosque. Breakfast is ok - we did not eat in the restaurant as there is such a wide choice of places to eat... More

my wife and I have just last week spend 4 nights at this hotel, partly chosen by our travel agent but backed up from reading TripAdvisor reviews, unfortunately we found the hotel far from satisfactory, service was terrible, rooms less than ideal, breakfast basic at best and staff, other than one bar person and doorman very unfriendly . Would never... More

Had a great experience at Celal Sultan for 3 nights. The location could not be better for a first time visit to Istanbul. It is very close to all the big sights, the blue mosque, cistern, Hagia Sophia. It is also very close to the tram stop that gets you around the city very easily and cheaply. The restaurants in... Stayed at the Celal sultan for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Truth be told I booked through priceline and had a much cheaper rate than the one posted. The hotel is located around all the cistern, topkipa palace and blue mosque. The restaurants around are all very touristy and aggressive about getting you to eat with them. A... More

I'll admit that the combination of Sultanahmet and the tag 'boutique' had me a little concerned, but it really is an excellent hotel. My single room had a double bed that was fantastically comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space, a good sized dressing table and plenty of sockets and lights. The bathroom wasn't huge but had everythuing you'd need (and some... More

After an extensive search for a hotel in a City that offers too many hotels with varying opinions we decided on Celal Sultan! And I think we made the perfect decision. If one decides to stay in the historic quarter, Sultanhamet, you can not go wrong with this great little boutique property! For and foremost the location is unbeatable, so... More
