My husband and I stayed 6 nights at the Celal Sultan in September. The hotel had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The central location provides easy access to the main tourist attractions. The Celal Sultan is a boutique hotel, friendly, stylishly decorated, quiet and comfortable. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the Hagia Sophia... More

We spent 10 days staying here in September. Perfect location as it is just a stones throw from the Cistern, Blue Mosque. Hagia Sophia and the main attractions.. Also not far to walk to the Bazaar. We had a lovely room, with big bathroom which makes a change from most hotels. Beds very comfortable. Not much of a view looking... More

My husband and I spent 5 nights from 2nd to 7th October to celebrate 40 years of marriage. What a lovely personable hotel. The location is superb, a few minutes to the major attractions. The breakfast was delicious and the hot food selection was changed daily. The only item at breakfast that we didn't enjoy was the pure orange, it... More

The best of both worlds - right in the heart of Sultanahmet, a stone's throw from the Hagia Sofia, and yet far from the madding crowds, on a quiet cobbled pedestrian street. It's not a great, big posh place! It's a modest hotel, but comfortable, perfectly placed, spotless and graced with extremely friendly and helpful staff. We were given an... More

Just back from long weekend in Istanbul. Chose Celal Sultan following good reviews on TA. and its location in Sultanhammet. Close to all the main attractions (Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazzar ) and loads and loads of restaurants. The buffet breakfast whilst not huge was ample for starting your day. Juice , cereal , pastries etc. and there was... More

This hotel was in an ideal location very close to the tourist attractions. It satisfied all our needs as a holiday hotel. However upon arrival (after 12 hours getting there), we were immediately told by the receptionist that everything would be closed on Saturday through to Tuesday due to a religious festival. He then pushed us to book a day... More

The situation of this hotel could not have been better. Less than 5 minutes walk from Istanbul's most major attractions and amenities. A spacious, quiet, and well presented room and in the morning a substantial buffet breakfast. Staff generally very attentive and helpful, however receptionists seemed somewhat aloof and unfriendly-(perhaps a long and tiring season?). Perhaps more interested in selling... More

The location was fantastic! It was central to all the major attractions. I think this hotel was great deal for the money and perfect for our short stay (3 days). Killer view! Opportunities for improvement: decor is old and outdated, some staff are wonderful while others look annoyed when you ask questions, bed was hard, the restaurant is rarely open,... More
