The hotel is small and adorable. It is convenietyly located to many sites and attractions and the staff is wonderful. I loved their breakfast too - very delicious - though I wonder if there is anything in Turkey that isn't yummy! I went on this trip with my dad who also had a great time! The room was a little... more

My girlfriend and I just spent four nights at the Celal Sultan and would definitely recommend it. The rooms are clean and have all the necessities (feather pillows, alarm clock, plenty of closet space, black out draperies). Housekeeping happily made up the beds with a sheet instead of a duvet when requested. The breakfast was very nice, plentiful and in... more

Comfortable rooms, quiet, very central for the old town. very helpful staff, good breakfast selection. Great views from the roof terrace. This is a charming little hotel in a huge city. When we return to Istanbul we will look no further than this hotel. more

Great location for the mosques and bazaars. Was here for for days and there was still plenty to see and do. Check out the underground water cistern just down the road - amazing. Lots of eateries around and about - strongly recommend Cafe Amedro - was in one of our guide books and was best meal we had. Hotel was... more

After spending two hours reading trip advisor reviews on hotels in Istanbul I chose this one. Organising a trip to please all four girlfriends between 60 - 70 years, was not easy as everybody has their own idea of the perfect hotel. We were not disappointed! We loved everything about it - its character, quiet location (only 5 min. walk... more

I have to admit that initially when I was " coerced" into downgrading my hotel booking from the Marmara Istanbul to the Celal Sultan, I was very upset. However, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise......the location of the hotel was absolutely fabulous...located in the heart of the sultanahmet district, this little hotel is literally a few minutes (... more

Just 2 mins walk from several key sites, great views of the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and Topkapi Palace from the rooftop restaurant. Room was a reasonable size (standard double), comfortable and clean, bathroom a little small but so well planned so plenty of space for your toiletries etc. Staff were extremely friendly, good tips on areas to eat (go... more
