Hotel was VERY clean and the location was perfect. Very close to all the touristy things, everything was walking distance. The employees of the hotel were very informative in how to get around if I needed to go anywhere further. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was that the rooms were small. With our bags in... Very cute boutique hotel in perfect location, across the street from the Blue Mosque and near by the grand bazaar and all the main attractions. My reservation offered airport picked up which was very reliable. (Looked for all signs hanging from gates with names). The hotel offered daily breakfast with a variety of Turkish selections with beautiful views of the... More

Efficient pick up from airport- used 4 times , 35 tlira flat rate in air con mini bus, better than taxi.check in and welcomed. We arrived 9.30 am , too early to go to room but able to leave luggage securely and invited to have free breakfast. Really appreciated this kindness after long flight. View from 5 th floor of... I stayed 4 nights at Alzer Hotel with my family and it has been a fantastic experience. The hotel is just 2 minutes walking from the Blue Mosque, 5-10 minutes walking from Aya Sofia, few miutes walking from Topkapi Palace and 10 minute walking from the Grand Bazaar. The tram stop is just 5 minutes walking to go everywhere in... More

Extraordinary well located, very cosy, excellent service, not expensive. My room was confortable and calm. Verry nice staff. On the most beautiful place of Istanbul, just in front to Blue Mosque and 5 minutes walk to Ayasofya. The perfect place with a beautiful view.

This review is regarding the hotel restaurant only. Attracted by the prime location and the excellent tripadvisor review, as well as our previous experience in 2012, we decided to try the Alzer restaurant. It sounds that the restaurant is now run by a different administration (rented out). It was a diaster; very poor quality food, expensive (we valued the locatio)... More

Great place with a bar/restaurant at the entrance which makes it unique. The rooms are so stylish that caught our attention. Spacious rooms, very clean and big bathroom with jacuzzi. Wifi is excellent. The personnel made our stay so pleasant. Before arriving, they sent me an email offering me a taxi from the airport to the hotel for 20 euros.... More

I can't say enough good things about the Alzer Hotel! Six of us stayed here for 5 days in June before catching a Greek Island cruise and we absolutely LOVED it! First of all, the hotel's location is perfect and close to just about everything... it was literally right across from the Blue Mosque, and a short walk to Haya... More

We booked this hotel to be close to sites since kids (7, 9) were w us. At first, we were concerned; mixup with driver from Port, noisy drilling outside (which proved to be short lived) and the somewhat odd decor (feather topped lamps) and small rooms/baths. After settling in, however, we were happy to be at Alzer. Was nice to... More

This hotel is awesome, my fave hotel so far. It's boutique styling and location make this hotel a must stay if you are in the area. Unlike a previous review, I found the staff to be very helpful and courteous.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
