This beautiful boutique hotel has touches of Ottoman design all over the place, from the spacious corner suite we stayed at, to the cute roof top with breathtaking views of the water and Istanbul roofs. Aside from the comfort of the hotel itself, Derssadet boasts the most friendly and helpful staff in its kitchen, housekeeping, and especially front desk. The... More

We were welcomed and made to feel at home by all the cheerful obliging staff of this small family run hotel. Our room was extremely comfortable with traditional rugs and furniture. The bathroom was impeccable. Breakfast in the sparkling terrace with views of the Blue Mosque and the Bosphorus with its busy marine traffic was a highlight; the breakfast on... More

THIS HOTEL IS OUTSTANDING AND ITS STAFF IS AMAZING!! It didn't matter what time of the day or night we came into the hotel, the front desk personnel couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. In fact, the entire staff at Dersaadet was kind and extremely accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure our room was comfortable and... More

I've stayed in more than a few hotels in Istanbul and Dersaadet really goes above and beyond. Will definitely be back! Love the little 'extras' like the note saying harder/softer bedding is available and the fact that everyone was always smiling. So refreshing!

We just returned from a 2 night stay and truly enjoyed ourselves! It's a quaint little hotel in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to all the sites. Because of this, we never worried about getting a cab and even felt safe walking at night. There's a bunch of cafes and shops along the adjacent streets. The staff is extremely... More

Everything was perfect - such a great place, love the breakfast on the balcony, and the recommendations for restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were very kind, and it was easy to walk around the city from this spot. Wish we could have stayed longer! Room was on the smaller side, but was tastefully decorated - and who wants to hang... More

I can simply warmly recommend Dersaadet hotel when visiting Istanbul. It's the small things that matter and create the unique atmosphere. The personnel was amazingly kind and always willing to help, it came naturally. Hope to be back as soon as possible.

Charming boutique hotel within minutes walk of the main attractions in Sultanahmet - blue mosque, Hague Sophia, etc. Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Breakfast buffet is legit - omelettes made to order, selection of Turkish dishes..all can be eaten on the terrace with view. Good value. Highly recommend.

The service they provide is excellent. The front desk was very knowledgeable and can always answer our questions. The fourth floor balcony also has a great view. The only disadvantage might be that the sea viewing room could be a little bit noisy at morning because of the songs coming from those mosque

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
