My husband and I had a great 2 night stay at Dersaadet! Everything was spectacular: room was clean and tidy, bathroom was ample and well-kept, roof-top terrace was beautiful, breakfast was lovely (lots of great options!), and the decor/atmosphere was superb. The hotel staff is well spoken and incredibly helpful! They called the Bosphorus cruise company so we didn't have... More

If you are looking to get a "bit of everything" from Istanbul, stay here. It is an a great location, breakfast included, and the atmosphere really makes it feel like you are in Turkey. Awesome staff who is always able to lend a helping hand. You can walk anywhere from here, and it is in a safe location. The best... More

After living in Turkey a year and staying in some Ottoman-style lodging, which can be creaky, old, and just never updated--I was most impressed with clean, cozy, well-located Dersaadet Hotel! Amazingly walkable (10 minutes!) to all major sites of Sultanahmet! Wonderful, friendly staff, who listened to our questions and really helped with several arrangements, including helping our kids feel comfortable... More

This small hotel is steps from the major sites--Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Aya Sofia. The rooms were ample size and the bed very comfy. Breakfast on the terrace with views of the water and the Blue Mosque was not lavish, but very nice. Best of all was the friendly and helpful staff. Their hospitality made us feel welcomed into their home... More

It was the first time for me in Istanbul and after looking on the ratings and comments on Tripadvisor I booked the Dersaadet Hotel. I didn't regret it! It is very conveniently located in the Sultanahmet district and close to the main sightseeing attractions. The style of the hotel's interior is really different, very nice and cosy! The front desk... Our family of five had a wonderful time at the Hotel Dersaadet. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed with apple tea and turkish delight. Onur Yurtseven at the front desk was extremely helpful helping us navigate the exciting but also overwhelming city of Istanbul. His suggestions were all great especially the boat cruise on the Bosphorus. We... More

Lovely little boutique hotel with the friendliest and most helpful staff we have ever encountered. The little terrace bar with view over the sea and a lovely breeze was most welcome. The rooms are not huge but they are spotless and the bathroom is clean and modern. We were welcomed in a lovely lounge with a glass of apple tea... More

Not a person who normally likes to give 5/5 but in this case it is well deserved. All the great comments on the Dersaadet hotel are spot on. I was particularly taken by the cinnamon swirl biscuits which were homebaked and served at breakfast and would love the recipe hint hint. Great job everyone.

The Dersaadet is in a great location near to but just far enough away from the Blue Mosque/Hippodrome area to be both convenient and quiet. The staff of Dersaadet are friendly, efficient and go out of their way to be helpful. I forgot the charger plug for my electric razor. The front desk staff found a merchant who could help... More

We stayed for couple nights in Dersaadet before we left Istanbul. The hotel is wonderful and HIGHLY recommended. You feel the history of Turkey in the hotel, and yet all the rooms are wonderfully furnished and extremely clean. Staff service and help is extra ordinary and they were VERY friendly. We booked there after we saw the reviews in TripAdvisor.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
