This hotel may not have the facilities of a 5 star hotel but we it has a 5 star service and hospitality. Excellent location...walking distance to the grand bazzar, Sultan ahmet garden, gastronomic experiences, The rooms are small but very clean, comfortable bed and bedding, complete amenities from beverages (you can request anytime) to bathroom. Although there are rooms that... More

The service is already most helpful since even before we arrive in Istanbul. Prompt in replying all our emails made it easy to communicate until we are due to arrive. The reception desk staff is most courteous helping us with literally everything we needed help with making it easier for us. We also enjoyed some of the places advised to... More

This is a cute little boutique hotel with a lift (in Istanbul's old city, not all hotels have been able to install a lift in the conserved buildings). The moment we arrived, we were sat down with coffee in hand and given a very useful overview/introduction of the city. It was a very thoughtful gesture, especially for first timers to... More

I liked everything about this Hotel. The staff were extremely helpful & courteous. The breakfast was good and had an excellent view. Most importantly, the location was great for a brief, first-time visit to Istanbul. The only hiccup we had was that we were given a small room with no balcony when we arrived. We had paid more to book... More

Pro's: Fantastic view from the rooftop terrace. We had a room with a balcony and the view is equally as good. Rooms are very clean and very quiet Location is excellent--you are steps from all major sites Breakfast has a wide selection of local foods. Very good. Free airport pick up was prompt and polite. Con's: The A/C wasn't working... More

I stayed at this hotel on my first visit to Istanbul. I will give it 5 stars for the size, staff and breakfast on the upstairs terrace with a view of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Everyone here is very helpful but not pushy. It is a smaller "Boutique Hotel" (even though I hate using those words). A great... More

Loved the stunning view of the Blue mosque from our balcony and the roof top terrace! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious but only drawback was there weren't many power oulet. The hotel is very cental -only a few minutes away from the sultanahmet tram stop and blue mosque. Would definitely stay here again!

This is the type of hotel that you get what you pay for. Its not expensive, because its small, traditional, clean and they will work with your needs. For us it was a home base to go visit the old town area of Istanbul, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia, the grand bazaar, etc. With the view of the town... More

Just returned to the US from Istanbul. We toured Greece for 9 days and then ended our trip with a 4-night stay at the Nena.... and we can wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Nena! The views from this traditional Turkish hotel were spectacular, price was reasonable, beautiful, clean rooms/common spaces....but the high point in this hotel is the staff .... they... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
