A small, welcoming hotel in the heart of IStanbul's most interesting and historical neighborhood, Sultanahmet. Efficient, clean, well run, but also wonderfully warm and hospitable. Staff is eager to be of assistence in any way possible. Knowledgeable about the City and major tourist sites,.Kudos to the staff for their graciousness, attentiveness and the respect they show their guests. Great location,... more

We have stayed four times at the Hotel Sarnac in the last two years. It is small, quiet and very well located near major attractions in Istanbul. The staff is friendly and did whatever possible to make our stays convenient. the rooms are small by US standards but have all of the typical amenities. more

We have recently returned from a trip to Istanbul. The city is just gorgeous and the Turkish people are extremely hospitable. However, their hospitality is nothing in comparison to the friendliness and concern showed by the staff of this boutique hotel. Despite the rooms being small and quaint, they were kept neat, clean and air-conditioned for comfort. The hotel is... more

Our stay at the Sarnic Hotel was marvelous! The staff and hotel owners could not have been more helpful, kind, real, and hospitable as they were. Moreover, the hotel is located in charming Sultahmet , ten minutes away from the Blue Mosque. It's truly lovely. The roof-top terrace is beautiful and it is indeed and enchanting and quiet area to... more

Stayed there for 6 nights end of June 2008. Most descriptions published at Tripadvisor before were matching the reality. Hotel is nice, clean and in a perfect spot for all major sightseeing highlights of Istanbul. There are plenty of restaurants with roof-top terraces around (e.g. Doy-Doy around the corner -nice view) where you can get a good dinner for 15... more

Excellent location: pleasant 5-min walk to Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Topkapi Palace, museums. Generally helpful staff. Rooms a bit small but neat and clean; some on airshafts are dark. Still, good value for money. Breakfast is mediocre, as are other meals (well-rated restaurant of previous owner is now closed). Many small, inexpensive restaurants in neighborhood. Small irritations that could be... more

Hotel is in a great location, staff are friendly and helpful, BUT: Air conditioning is a waste of time so room is stuffy. Of course you can open window but there is traffic up the street into the small hours. Even with window closed it is still noisy. And then there is the mosque call at 4.30AM. And then there... more
