My stay was okay. This review is mostly about the bad stuff . Room and bathroom were quite small. There weren't enough power sockets in the room. WiFi wasn't working during my whole stay (6 days), I had to use data roaming to work. The AC kept working no matter what temperature I set it on. Sometimes I'd wake up... More

Great price for this hotel and at an ideal area. Minutes walk from the Blue mosque and AyaSophia mosque. The staff was really nice and helpful. They provide a breakfast with some packages and that was a hit with our family. The selection for breakfast is vast and they always let us stay past the designated time frame. Also very... More

This hotel deserves a higher rating, except for 3 objections: our room at the front of the hotel was subject to a lot of late evening noise from a sports field across the street, the fact we were steered to a restaurant that was much more expensive than we were led to believe, and the placement of the A.C. which... Reception tried to sell tour packages at check-in. Location in congested, seedy part of town. Taxi was needed to get to historic sights. Our small, dark room had poor lighting. Restaurant on top floor was relaxing with river views. Would not return.

We stayed here 3 nights with three kids aged 12 and under and were very happy with our experience. Family room was nice and spacious, and we had a nice view of the sea. We were concerned the pool would be too small, but it is beautifully lit and our kids enjoyed it quite a bit. The adults in our... More

I've been travelling alone and had just arrived in Istanbul from Bucharest, before I continued my fun in the hostels, I wanted a night to chill out, not really talk to anyone and just be looked after - that's exactly what I got! I arrived with my backpack, the receptionist was very attentive, they served me a welcome drink and... More

We had reserved a room for 2 nights 9post cruise) 11 months in advance. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were took that it was overbooked and we could spent 2 nights there. We were offered accommodations in a 'newer' hotel, closer to the tourist sights. I replied that we could do newer at home. We were then offered accommodations... More

Excellent hotel in the old city. The decor is very Victorian and goes with the 'Palace' in the property's name - truly royal. The swimming pool is more like a a big tub in the basement; and the steam and sauna were hardly in use when we stayed. The buffet breakfast has a good spread. The wi-fi signal is strong... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
