The Kalyon is beautifully situated right along the water and has beautiful views of the Sea of Maramara (across from Kennedy Avenue, that is!). It is a peaceful and quiet place and has a nice back gate that allows you to easily get up to the cobblestone streets that snake up into Sultanahmet. It is a hike if you are... More

Very nice big rooms compared to other Istanbul hotels. Cheap and very good prize for money. We took two rooms at the sea view. A third bed where added with no extra charge. Very nice and cooperative staff

You are in sultanahmet but you are away from the hustle and the bustle. You are just a 10 minutes walk away from all the amazing restaurants coffee shops and souvenirs and yet you have a nice view of the Marmara from the window. The hotel seems like a small establishment but protocols are established, practiced and maintained like a... More

The hotel itself is in a beautiful location. However it is every ill maintained. We stayed for 3 nights, and it cost about 100€/night, excluding breakfast. Expected the hotel to be atlesat clean. The beds are old and super uncomfortable. We could feel the springs in the mattress, and every morning work up with a sore back and neck. The... More

Hotel closed to the sea, not so far to Yenakapi Ferry boat pier. Closed to blue Mosquee, and oldest places. Everything by walk. Room space is good, welcome is nice, and manu taxis closed to the hotel. In synthesis I recommand. I waked up too early to taste breakfast but you can ask something to bring.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, nice location walking distance from Hagia Sophia and good restaurants. Hotel is right on the water with great views. Only downside is that beds are really firm. I stayed here for work travel but would come back again on vacation.

Small, but clean rooms. Good restaurant and great breakfast. Excellent location, within walking distance from Agia Sofia and all the must see places in Instanbul. Beautiful view. It's a good choice for a first time visitor in Istanbul.

This hotel is logestically located. It is very close to the city attraction and city center. There is just a walkimg distance to Topcapi and great local resturants. There is a great patio for business meetings or a casual friends gatherings.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
