Luxury, history, and convenience wrapped into one. The property was gorgeous. Full access to the gorgeous Bosporus pool/spa facilities was icing on the cake. All told, it was one of the highlights of a magical trip.

This property is in full accordance with what you would expect from a FS., beautiful grounds, attentive staff, and comfortable and well appointed rooms. However, what this particular property has is a location to die for. It is literally minutes (like 2) from the beautiful Hagia Sophia Mosque, and about 4 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque. Both are amazing... More

I have stayed in other Four Seasons hotels in the U.S. and in Italy, and the service is always outstanding. That is also true of the Sultanahmet Four Seasons, however, this is one of the loveliest buildings I have ever seen. An inner courtyard garden houses a pretty little restaurant, scented with jasmine. A rooftop bar offers a great view... More

I've been fortunate to stay in some mighty fine places, but the Four Seasons Sultanahmet certainly ranks at or near the top of my all-time favorite spots. We did the upgraded room, and although a little painful to the wallet at time of booking, was well worth it when we got there. The staff is superb. Rooftop bar - out... More

I shed at this hotel for about a week during sight-seeing trip with some friends. The location is incredible for tourists, located just next to The Hagia Sofia, the blue mosque, and the Hurrem baths. I recommend having one of their many delicious cocktails in the roof, which has stunning views of the city and the water.

The hotel is a former prison and I joked to the receptionist that I had not as yet slept in a cell. He said, sorry but that's not happening here either, we've upgraded you to the wardens rooms. Absolutely lovely , 1.5 bathrooms, large living dining space master suite upstairs, nespresso in the dining room across from an iMac The... More

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights our first time in Istanbul. The location could not be better for spending time in old town to see all the sights, you can just walk to everything. The view from the rooftop bar is incredible! The service was amazing as you would expect from a Four Seasons. The hotel is relatively small... More

The hotel is the site of an old jail. It sits in between the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. Check out the Roof Top Bar at the call to prayer. The two Mosques echo each other and it is so hauntingly beautiful. The Sunday Brunch is amazing. Top Notch Service! Everyone is so very helpful and charming!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
