I stayed six nights in the corner room #22, which is sufficient size for one person only. The maid came every day with fresh towels but not sure how often the sheets were changed. The room faces the street, so can be a bit noisy with pedestrians and late diners, since you need to open the windows for fresh air... More

We stayed in the pension at side hotel. You got what you paid for. It is located extremely close between aya Sofia and the blue mosque which was really great. Walking distance to one of the streets of food and bars in the old city. The staff were friendly and helped where they could. We had a triple room with... More

I stayed at Side Hotel with my parents from 9-11 April, and on my own from 19 - 24 April. We were returning visitors, having stayed at Side in 2000 when we went to Turkey for the first time. Both stays were fantastic. Side is a family-run hotel/pension. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The pension part has been upgraded... More

The location is the best thing about the hotel. Rooms are basic and comfortable. Breakfast is basic and fresh - bread, egg, 5 olives, 3 slices of tomato, 3 slices of cucumber, cream cheese, butter and jam. Every day. I liked it - veggies are good for brekkie. Room was clean and basic. Street view room was a little noisy... More

We stayed 4 nights at the Side Hotel. It's in a wonderful location, close the Topkapi palace and the Blue Mosque. The hotel itself is a bit lacking. It was cool in Istanbul when we visited in April and the thin blanket they offered really was not sufficient to keep us warm. Breakfast was was Turkish basic, you pick it... More

Good points: - location, quiet street, but only few steps from Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque - terrace with tables and chairs (you can eat your breakfast there) - friendly staff, reception staff speaking good English - hot tea available in the lobby 24h a day - nice fresh breakfast, although every day the same (egg, cream cheese, jam, olives,... A good basic hotel right in the middle of Old Istanbul. Nice owners. Clean rooms/hotel. Cheap and one block away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Free tea. Shuttle was on time and not expensive. Breakfast was not the best but did the job. Hard boiled egg, bread and cheese with coffee/tea and juices. You can also order eggs.... More

Cheap and cheerful. If you are wanting to stay in the old part of town and want basic and good value place, then this is the right pension. The location is good. It feels safe for singles. Service is direct and without any flourishes. Questions will be answered but it is not full of smiles. My room was on the... More

We ALWAYS stay at the Side hotel when we visit İstanbul. And we worry about how much longer they can/will continue to offer such bargain rate lodging. The Sultanahmet Camıı is 2 blocks away in one direction, the Aya Sophia and Topkapı Palace are 2 blocks in the other direction. The team is 2 blocks away. The rooms are immaculately... More

Great location, clean, friendly staff and awesome terrace. I stayed here 7 years ago and returned because it's just such a nice place to call home while in Istanbul. My dad and I stayed in a room where you had to share a bathroom with other rooms but that was fine. There were 2 bathrooms for 6 bedrooms I believe... More
