Great restaurant right next to Hagi Sophia. The view is simply spectacular, split between Hagi Sophia and the Bosphorous. Riduan, Fesih and their team of first class waiters will take good care of you. Nice place to unwind after a hectic afternoon visiting the many charming attractions of sultanahmet.

Forget everything else - the views are everything! Okay - the food was great too. And the service was above par. I never stayed in the hotel but ate at the restaurant. The best food I had in Istanbul. And enjoying it with that awesome 360 degree panoramic view made it even better.

Very nice staff. Elevator. A/C. Stunning views from the roof-top restaurant. Nice breakfast included. Walking distance to Hagia Sophia (skip if you're short on time), Blue Mosque (don't miss - can't go in during call to prayer), and Topkapi Palace (ornate and sprawling!), and the tram, which takes you most other places you want to go for 4TL. The rooms... More

This hotel, which was recommended to my friend and me, did not disappoint one bit. As the phrase goes, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This was the key as the hotel, which is located in the the Sultanahment area is about a 25-minute taxi ride from IST airport (without traffic) and is a 5-minute walk to both the Blue Mosque and the... Stayed for 4 nights in June 2015. Close to all the major sites, easy access to Istanbul's very good tram service and superb views of the Blue Mosque and Sophia Hagia from the terrace restaurant. Got off to a bad start as the car we had booked via the hotel failed to turn up at the airport. Were upgraded to... More

I've been here 4 nights, tonight is my last night. I'm very petite 4 foot 2 inches and as the bath is deep in the room, I mentioned my struggle to get in and out of the bath to the reception staff... the next day, they presented me with a set of specially made steps. Never in my life have... More

We stayed at the Seven Hills in late April 2015. This hotel could not be in a better location to visit all the major historical sights of Istanbul. The rooftop restaurant has a view that cannot be beat of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, as well as the Bosphorous and Golden Horn. WiFi worked well throughout the hotel, and... More

We spent a total of 10 nights here, bookending a gulet cruise -- 6 and 4 nights respectively. Our first room (#101) came with a double bed, desk with stool, TV and fridge, sofa, luggage rack, small table with coffee/tea fixings, a closet with 7 real hangers and a minuscule safe. The bathroom shower's hot water varied with the time of... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
