The beds are comfortable, there is free wifi, a nice continental breakfast is included. The staff are really friendly and there is a cool vibe in the place. I had a nice time bonding with other guests over beers just outside the door. The location is ideal - near so many tourist attractions and bars. Would stay there again.

Situated in the beautiful vibrant Taksim area in Istanbul, this charming little hostel is very well hidden away in one of the side street off Istiklal Avenue. We came with a large group of 16+ students on a trip, and we were shown great hospitality from the very friendly staff. Definitely recommend for anyone travelling solo or in need a... More

I've stayed in the hostel for almost 10 days and I've found it very amusing. Why? 1. You can ask anything to the staff members and even to the people who are staying in the hostel. Kindness is one of the best things about this place. 2. The location is a 5-minute away from the busy Istiklal Caddesi. It is... More

If you're planning to stay around Istiklal Street and are travelling on a budget, this place will prove worth the buck. Service was good, room, bedsheets, linens and toilet was clean. Only gripe was the hot water may get cut off unexpectedly, but staff was quick to respond. If you're staying on the second floor, the toilet bowl may feel... More

I stayed in EastWest Hostel for 1 night in a 3 bed dorm. The place is value for the price and the location of the hostel is fairly good if you wanna stay near Taksim Square. Short walking distance to shops and restaurants but about 30 minutes walk to the old city where the main tourist attractions are (although with... More

This lovely hostel has an amazing location, meters away rom the main avenue, but on a calm street in the same time. Staff was amazing, with shiny smiling eyes and they had great taste in music, breakfast was more than enough. Rooms were clean, as in every hostel there were few problems with soundproof but it wasn't unbearable, i enjoyed... More

I really do not understand all those people with great reviews. First of all the hostel is very small and the rooms do not look at all like on the pictures. Most of rooms are very small and placed on high storeys that you have to climb and carry your luggage through steep narrow stairs, there is no lift. Second,... More

I stayed at the Eastwest Hostel for three nights. The hostel staff is cool, helpful and friendly. I 10 hours earlier than planned and they still made it possible for me to sleep in a different room. They also helped me find the way back to my bus company. I enjoyed the breakfast, which comes free. The common room in... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
