Nice hosts and fair price, in a very central location, but really dirty and in need of a better management. Some room were under repairs and we got a room full of the dust from the works. It won't have take much to vacuum the floor before we got there. Wifi is available only at the ground floor. The bed... More

My wife and I were attracted to it because it was relatively cheap and the online pictures provided by management were relatively nice. When we arrived around 9pm, the person working placed us in a small room directly next to the front desk area. The man working at the desk had the television on loudly and was talking on his... I spent there 3 nights in late November, 2014. The hostel was pretty clean and when we complain about something, they change it fast. The location is good, even if it was hard at the begining to find it. Very limited breakfast choices but I think it is normal for a relatively cheap hotel. No important complains. It would be... Positive: close to Galata Bridge and Tower, tram, walking distance from the Süleymanye and Eminönü districts you might like to visit. The price is fair, but not the services. Wifi works quite ok. Negative: dirty - bot the rooms and the bathrooms in rooms / shared bathrooms. Forget the breakfast and the morning coffee, you better get out and eat... More

At 10 pm it was an Odyssey to find it. When we finally arrived, we knocked the door and nobody was opening. After 10 minutes we had decided to try to find another place, and then a guy came out. At first he couldn't find out reservation (a private "deluxe" room), but when he finally did, he told us he... More

excellent location near the tram and within walking distance from taksim and sultanahmed. very good breakfast, fast wifi at all floors and friendly staff. there is no elevator but it's fine if you stay on 1st-3rd floor, but not on 5th if you are not young.the matress was not perfect and the ceiling (on a 5th floor room) needs refresh.

+ perfect location, + Galata bridge 5 min, Eminönű 10 min, Topkapi Saray 30 min. + very cheap (20 eur/night) - very dirty and smelly bathroom - weak wifi - little room (I can't pull over my suitcase between the bed and the wall...) - noisy backyard - not too friendly hosts - too simple and poor breakfasts (same menu... The location is very good, but our room was dirty, someone smoked in it, and overall I think the room was not ready when we arrived so they gave us a room someone just left . Bathrooms too were not clean and english is an issue with some of the persons working there. It is quite cheap, ok, but I'm... More

Me and my boyfriend have recently stayed at Hotel Galata 2. Everything seemed to be fine for the first night. In the morning we asked if we could stay one extra night. The guy at the reception had a terrible English but after 10-15 min of checking his papers, he finally told us, very clearly, that we could stay another... More

Excellent location for travellers who visit Istanbul for the first time especially if you want to explore Istanbul by walk. It is at a half a way from Sultan Ahmet to Taksim. There is also excellent public transportation if you want to use it. You get very good services for the price you pay.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
