Very good location, on the heart of the old city. Clean and quit rooms, very friendly staff. The breakfeast should be a little bit better, but it's OK: Free WiFI, a lot of good retaurants of the neighborhood.

My friend and I spent three days here in a twin room in late January. Fantastic place to stay at, as soon as we arrived we felt welcomed and right at home. Great location, a 2 minute walk to Sultanahmet Square - it was also right next to great local restaurants. Our room was warm and clean and well worth... More

I found OBA Hotel one of the best Short Time Accommodation Place at Economical & Affordable Budget Cost. We found true friendly environment. OBA People hospitality and honesty give edge to other Hotels. I stayed at OBA from 23rd to 29th December 2015. During 7-days short stay program, I enjoyed a lot. OBA Breakfast is full of delicious, energizing and... More

We travelled to Istanbul over the Christmas break. It is located close to Blue Mosque in Sultanahmet district. 10 minutes walk to Blue Mosque, mostly uphill. We booked a room for 4, bedroom was great, the sofa bed was just big enough to accommodate to teenage boys. Very clean room and bathroom, however space is tight and bathroom is small.... More

Wonderful try! Totaly value for money.. According the price per night the hotel is for 4-5 stars. Very very clean, warm ambience, smily and kind staff, very close to the main square.. Be ready to walk on hilly roads! Thank you again!

Oba Hotel is a lovely little boutique hotel. It is located in a quiet street, a steep climb away from the main tourist area. There are some decent restaurants a couple of blocks away, which are better priced than their more centrally situated counterparts. The lobby and the rooms are tastefully furnished. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The shower has... More

he location is very near to Blue Mosque and Grand Bazar. Just few steps away from Sokollu Mehmed Pasha Mosque, a 500 years old beautiful mosque. About 3 minutes walking there is a local restaurant called Imran Lokantasi, you will not find tourist dining in this restaurant, only locals. The Bushaka is to die for. Ask the reception for the... When searching for a place to stay, I usually consider a mix of criteria: the ratings/reviews, the price, access to public transport and proximity to the places I intend to visit, not necessarily in that order. Oba Hotel was second on my list and I was on the verge of booking at another boutique hotel which was slightly more expensive... More

The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful, they helped us organize our trip to Cappadocia and Konya at the last minute, couldn't have done it without them! The location couldn't be better, just a walk up the hill and you will reach the Blue Mosque. The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. Definitely stay for breakfast, it is delicious... More

A small hotel with the feeling of a bed-and-breakfast. All of the rooms are freshly decorated, clean, and comfortable. The rooms on the third floor are a bit quieter, as long as you don't mind climbing the stairs. (We did not.) For anyone visiting the main sites of the Old City, the location could not be better. Every major site... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
