I arrived at #Bunk on the first day of my erasmus in Istanbul. The place is pretty warm and chill, I had no problems with the beds and commons, on the contrary, it was pretty comfortable. The Team is the mega + here. Super effiicient, welcoming and soooo kind with travelers ! They gave me many indications about the nice... More

Where else do you go to check in at 11pm, and within 2 hours you're eating mussells on the street with 3 of your new best friends on the streets of Beyolgu?? I had such a blast staying at Bunk and guarantee I will stay here again! The staff in reception were the best, very approachable and friendly, the internet... More

Very very expensive room. Room doesn't seem to be the same as in the photos. We booked a room for 2 people for one night. It was a small room, with just one bed and one little open closet. Tasks of humidity decorate the walls.... Also we had to share the bathroom. The balcony of the room with the aircon... More

Lovely place!!! The staff are very friendly, and attentive to any questions/issues. The dorm room is a bit small so if you have big bag be prepared for that (and the in room wifi is not the best)! But besides that, very cool interior design, glorious breakfast, and the location could not be better. Comfy bed, spacious shower, and cool... More

Hostel staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and had power points and shelves for each bed. Towels were provided and the bathrooms were clean, a nice breakfast was also provided with cheese, eggs, cucumber, not just cereal and bread/jam. The location is fantastic, close to the main street in taksim. Also nearby are bars, restaurants and a... More

#bunk, oh #bunk. Oh, how I loved my stay. This is absolutely my favourite hostel ever. EVER. My boyfriend and I were in Istanbul for 7 days, but decided to book an extra night because we loved the hostel (and the city) so much. The one downside to bunk was that this was the first hostel of our trip in... More

In 18 years of travelling this is the first time I've written a review of accommodation, but I feel compelled to do so by the incredibly poor value offered by Bunk Beyoglu. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my stay there. At Euro 85 per night for a single room without WC, this is probably the worst value accommodation I... More

we booked to stay for four nights, and ended up only staying for two and booking a hotel for the rest, for reasons thrice: 1. when we checked in, there was a "system problem" that basically meant they'd overbooked and our actual room - a double with a private bathroom - had been given to an earlier couple who'd checked... I stayed here for a long weekend while I was traveling through Turkey! The place was clean, the people were friendly and it really comes alive early evening when Esma is working. She's fantastic! I had such a great time there, that when back in Istanbul I went there just to hangout since I knew there would be something going... More

I was there in Jun on a solo trip! Amazing location, as if you wanna come back after the whole day of visit you are just few steps away from restaurants and bars but still in a quiet alley! The staff has been very friendly and helpful with directions and tips for visits! Rooms and bathrooms very clean and I... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
