I have very mixed feelings about this hostel. I booked it because it was a bargain at 25 euro/night for a private room with a shared bathroom. Arrival was fine, guy working was very friendly even if it was his first day. The a/c in my room had no remote and he promptly found one for me. I think it's... More

The location and staff were the best at this hostel. The room was clean and nice however the female four bed dorm door does NOT shut or lock. The door opens in night and the door frame has been broken so does not allow the handle to work. Therefore anyone can just push door to open. However I felt very... More

The location of the hostel was the best about our stay here. Within a short walking distance you reach public transport that takes you to the main tourist sights in minutes. Meanwhile you're staying in the heart of what feels like where everything is happening in Istanbul (though you're still in a quite lane and not on the main road).... More

Throughout all the building (except the lobby) the smell of sewerage is present, especially in the toilets which were nearly unbearable. I also left my large toiletries bag with expensive medicine inside in my room when I checked out and rung back 4 hours later and they claim that it was not there so I assume it was thrown out.... I am a free traveller from Scotland , I really wonder Istanbul and a week ago I visited Istanbul. The most difficult decide was to find cheap and comfortable hostel. I found the Cheers Midtown and suddenly I booked here. I really glad to find there because that place is so near to Taksim Square and the staffs are so... More

I stayed in cheers midtown hostel 1 week ago. The hostel is really in very good location first. You can go istiklal street (the most popular street in istanbul ) in 5 minutes with walking. And ıf you want to go sultan ahmet or ayasofia it is very easy. You can go in 3 minutes with walking to metro station.... More

Terrible smell in the stairwell, but not in the room if you keep the door closed. Need couches in the cafe/common room. Not really sure it's a cafe anymore, just a room where the WiFi works with no atmosphere. No staff Sunday morning. Pretty good shared bathroom, comfortable mattresses and great doona, good security, great and caring staff. Great location... More

I stayed in this hostel in may with school and really liked it! It has comfortable beds and it's clean. There's a big bathroom, but I didn't like sharing it with the other 9 people on the floor (and the toilet is also in there) (but there's a room with a bathroom that you don't need to share aswell!) A... More

Stayed 2 nights when backpacking. Decent comfy beds, friendly staff and air con in the rooms. You get a fob key so you can come and go as you please. The street it's on doesn't have much to offer though, hardly anywhere doing proper turkish food which I was surprised about, so you need to walk a while to find... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
