I was lucky to get a last-minute booking at Azade Suites. Located in the Sultanahmet district two - three blocks from the Blue Mosque, Azade Suites is an inexpensive, yet incredibly comfortable, option in Old Town Istanbul. Traveling as a single female I found the staff to be attentive, offering ideas toad to my itinerary. Wifi worked well in the... More

stayed in the king suite and had a balcony with views of the Bosporus and the Blue Mosque. Really friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was at a nearby hotel and was average and the only downside to an otherwise excellent stay.

Room Size: We stayed in the family suite which looked decent in the pictures, however, these rooms are too small and there is hardly any place to walk or even move easily Staff: There is only one kind individual at the tiny reception area, who is away most of the time for a smoke and hence there is very less... Stayed there for 3 nights in February 2015, free upgrade from Hippodrome hotel where we had initially booked. Spacious room with a luxurious bathroom (with jacuzzi or a jacuzzi system anyway), mini bar, and flat tv (two screens). The beds were king size and very comfy. It was very clean and the lady who was cleaning it very smily and... More

Extremely classy suite not cheap but worth the splurge for New Year's Eve. Don't confuse it with its sister hotel Azade hotel, where you will have breakfast. The street is perpendicular to Akbiyik, go down Torun with Arasta Bazaar on your left, turn right and you are there (I found that I had to give directions to the taxi driver!)... More

The room is not clean, the furniture was old and had a very dirty sofa. The lady that Cleans the room every day does not do a proper job in cleaning the room or the bathroom. We could not sleep at night because of the noisy restaurants in the street that have bands playing every night. The last day the... More

We had a hard time identifying a hotel that would accommodate our family (four of us, twin 6 year old boys). Luckily, thanks to previous reviews from trip advisor folks we found availability at Azade Suites though as first time travelers to Istanbul we had no clue what to expect. Here's what we found (1) Comfortable: we stayed in a... More

We stayed five nights here and loved every minute. The hotel was in a very central location, with both the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia only a minute away. The rooms were fantastic, very comfortable! The breakfast provided was great and the views second to none. The service provided by the lovely staff, especially Mutlu, made the stay even better.... More

This hotel is well-located in the center of old city and only takes 5 minutes to the blue mosque. There are lots of restaurant around the hotel, including a chinese restaurant (Chang Cheng Restaurant) and a Korean restaurant ( Seoul Restaurant), both of them are traditional from a view of a chinese native. We live in a family suites for... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
