go there by metro and easily found it, read about it in tripadvisor already, so almost know what it should be, yeah noisy after midnight but guess double glasses windows improved it, especially when your room just have a window, less noise bother you. anyway nice price for such hotel in one of the best part of Istanbul. staffs there... The Balo hotel is perfectly fine for a short stay and would only recommend it to either the very young or the young at heart. The very loud music in the bars literally next door goes on until at least 5 am. I went there to party so was not a problem for me, but on my 3rd night I... More

It was clean and nice hotel, nice location; just 15 minutes walk from Taksim Square and 2 minutes from istiklal street and 2 minutes walk from bus station. Nice staff especially the lady and no big problem of sound around. I would like to stay there again.

This hotel is located very close to the Istkilal street and Taksim square. But, the main problem is the noise around the place, tens of nightclubs and crowded street with youth who attend these activities. Sound can reach your room easily day or night (night is the worst). The breakfast is very basic, cheese, toast, tomato, cucumber, tea or instant... More

nice staff, and very helpful. the rooms are clean. the hotel is in the middle of the disco area, and quite cheap in comparison to other hotels in that district. the breakfast is good. a perfect place to stay for party vacations in istanbul.

Hotel Balo is an extremely basic hotel apartment on Balo Street, a branch on Istiklal Street which is the most happening street in Istanbul. Balo Street offers loads of restaurants, pubs and clubs 5mins walking distance away. The room was small. We had barely any place to keep our suitcase. The toilet is quite small where you cannot take a... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. It is difficult to locate this hotel, which is situated in one of the many streets in Istikal Cd but it is also very close to where most of the action happens on Taksim Square. You have the best restaurants, bars, stores very close by. The rooms are quite small, but they are good... More

I recommend this hotel only to the House music enthusiasts! Yes, the hotel is well maintained, clean and located in an area frequented by tourists, with many bars and shops! Low price of the room may justify Small size room and bathroom (no shower, squirting water everywhere on foot!). However, noise from the disco is so great that in the... More

My wife and I just spent 10 nights at the Balo Hotel in Istanbul. It was our first experience in Istanbul and we've never been regretful for preferring this hotel! The location of the hotel was spot on. Everything you could want to see is accessible from here. It was very close to dozens of excellent restaurants, shops and bars... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
