We chose Holiday Time because of its location in the first place. Everything is within 20 min walking distance (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazarr, Eminünü port). The room was small but clean and satisfactory. What we liked the most was Fetih - the receptionist guy - who was super helpful and friendly, even invited us to a trip to... More

The hotel I booked (Holiday Time Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey) did not honor my reservations on New Year's Eve. The excuse was that my credit card was not valid, although this was clearly not true because the card had been confirmed through Expedia. (I suspect the true reason was because they resold the rooms at a higher rate.) The manager... More

Rested with my sister in Istanbul in February 2013 for 10 days. Found this hotel through the booking.com - looking for a convenient location and low price. We all loved it!The hotel is really very good location - just 10-15 minutes to all the important places! Very helpful staff - Ruhi - great manager and Lily - the best housekeeper!... More

We didn't stay at the hotel! We made a reservation and when we arrive to the hotel nobody open the hotel for us, we wait for about 15 mins till some one open the door, they cancelled our reservation without notifying Booking.com and us! They said that they have a problem and they can't give us a room! We waited... More

Good points: Close to major attractions One of the front desk speaks English and is polite, but not helpful Good Internet connection Negatives: Be prepared to catch cold as heating is only turned on at night. By morning when room gets warm its turned off. Cycle happens everynight. Was told that's their, process,. As everyone... More

I booked this hotel based on price, location, and ratings on booking.com. The hotel is in a convenient location to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia. The hotel is hard to find because it is not marked well and is located on one of the many side streets in the area. The room was not ready after the... More

The hotel is not well known in the neighbourhood. We have asked many people in the street, but nobody could help us find the hotel. When we finally arrived the room was really dirty. Everywhere we found long black hairs (even at the sheets in our bed) and it was very dusty. 2 out of 4 lights were not working.... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
