Don't know about rooms but open roof terrace restaurant earns best rating. From the view, service to the excellent kebab done in a pot on open fire. A nice chat with the servant about the city and life in it as well. Don't be surprised about the entrance to the roof; does not demonstrate what expects you at all.

Hotel is in the middle of everything. In one day, you can nearly visit all important attractions in old city. There are markets, many cafes and restaurants nearby. Also, roof-top restaurant of the hotel was amazing. Delicious food and stunnig views. Very friendly and helpful personnel. We absolutely recommend this lovely hotel

First of all, on the pictures hotel looks very nice. We booked our hotel and when we came we were shocked. The hotel is very small, this hotel have 4 or 6 rooms. The stairways are so small that two people can't walk. The rooms were very small and very dirty. It says that hotel have rooftop it really does... More

We were staying in a near by hotel, were hailed by the staff for lunch as we walked past. The views of blue mosque were really nice from roof top, though as we were there for lunch, did miss the night part. Food was nice and they even agreed to cook half the portion of their 'clay pot dish'. Staff... More

It was our first time to visit Istanbul and Charm Hotel was the perfect hotel choice. The hotel is closed to Blue mosque and the old city. The staffs were attentive and guide us what to see and Utku even suggested the choice transportation and even the price! With fantastic advice, we had an absolute wonderful trip. The room was... We had a supper in Charm hotel rooftop. View was nice. It got quite cold after sunset but the staff provided blankets. Service was a bit amateurish (for example waiter touched the fork spikes when placing flatware) but friendly and humorous. Food was good but we had to wait quite long to get it.

I doubt one can find a better location in Istanbul - within 1 minute of walking you are standing between Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia! There are quite a few hotels in that area, but you cannot go wrong with Charm Hotel. The guys who run the place are very nice and very helpful. The rooms are clean, but not... More

We are here now! Booked for one night only as we head to Switzerland tomorrow. This was a 24 hour layover. Hotel was a nice suprise! Best view ever of the Blue Mosque! I'm adding pictures so you'll see! So romantic, sitting at the restaurant on the roof enjoying a wonderful glass of wine drinking in the view.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
