If you're thinking about going to Istanbul: GO! And if you are going to Istanbul: STAY HERE! It was amazing, amazingly perfect. Clean, large rooms, large bathrooms, wonderful staff, inspiring decor, and perfect location. Walk 10 minutes across the bridge to the Old Town, walk 5 minutes into the alleys of Karakoy and you're transported to a completely different town... More

I was originally booked in to a tiny room at the new Soho House, but after seeing photos of Karakoy Rooms and wanting to be closer to my friends who were staying at SuB, I switched hotels. I fell in love with my room at this small hotel immediately after checking in. My dream home would include everything there -... More

We just returned from spending three nights at Karakoy Rooms and we have nothing but positive things to share about this lovely hotel. The location is excellent - very close to Galata Tower and surrounding neighborhood / Galata Bridge to Sultanhamet. Karakoy itself has some very charming backstreets and these are mere minutes from the hotel and great for wandering... More

Fantastic location -right in the heart of Karakoy/Tophane and minutes from Galata and Istiklal Street and Galata Bridge - really couldn't be better. Absolutely divine decor/design and the rooms are just so large - seriously huge rooms. The owners and designers have really thought it through to offer you a perfect experience. The staff are very friendly and helpful as... More

This hotel was just fabulous. The service at the front desk and at the adjoining restaurant was exceptional. We loved the food so much that we dined at the hotel restaurant twice in our five day stay in Istanbul. The reception staff helped us everyday with our selection of where is good to eat, how to get places and what... More

Guttingly only had a night here on my way back from Ankara - recommended by a friend and so glad I found this lovely, superbly well-designed gem. Stunning look and feel, super staff, and the whole place a total home from home. Great location too. Stay here!

Karaköy Rooms could be a reason on its own to visit İstanbul. You will simply be so sad to leave and will be coming back again and again. It has everything and much more you can expect from a small luxury hotel with lots of character, minimal design, attention to detail and most importantly run by great people. Location is... More

Only stayed the one night as we passed through but our stay was amazing. The studio was huge and spotlessly clean. Excellent location next to all the attractions of Istanbul and very close to the Karakoy - Kadikoy ferry. The guys on reception are extremely friendly and helpful. Overall this is a superb little hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel neatly tucked near the cruiseship port. Close to Galata Tower and the infamous Istiklal Caddesi street, this hotel provides great service, nicely designed rooms that are spacious, very clean, very comfortable with free breakfast in their restaurant called Karakoy Lokantasi that provides excellent breakfast buffet of healthy, delicious and carefully chosen items... My husband and I stayed at Karakoy Rooms for three nights prior to a cruise. We chose the hotel simply because of its proximity to the port (less than a 10 minute cab drive with traffic) but it turned out that it was close to many other attractions as well. It was an easy walk over the bridge to the... More

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
