We had booked this hotel from 29 October until 4 November 2015. On arrival at the hotel there was a dirty musty smell. We were shown to our room through the smallest lift ever. When we arrived at the room it was too small for 2 people to stay in and was dirty. The owner then said he would show... More

The room was tiny and noisy the bathroom shelf and cup were no longer on the wall. The hall light wasn't working when we arrived so we had to scrabble around in the dark to open our room. They overcharged us for the stay and were very rude when questioned about it. I would never recommend this place to anyone.... More

They are thief!! Euro rate was 2.6 but they charged me 2.99 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Location is terrible near tarlabasi, the most dangerous street in Istanbul. Rooms are terrible and are not standard. there is no view, you can see a neighbor wall!!! also it's not sound proof and you can heat a lot of noise from other rooms. also wifi didn't... More

It was a pleasure to return to this small hotel, further to my no less enjoyable stay back in August. Nothing has changed - the staff as friendly and as helpful as ever, and the location ideal for quick access to virtually anywhere one might wish to go. It is a very short walk to Taksim metro, from whence one... More

The worst place ever, bathrooms have mold, leaking shower cube, window blinders don't function well - can't pull them up, they lie to you with the preview - economy room is TINY!!! so when you get there, you get an "offer" to upgrade to "delux" which is still very very bad! Its written in the description - iron, ironing facilities,... More

The location is perfect, near the Istiklal street and Taksim. The room I stayed in was small but nice and clean. Towels changed daily, everything you need is there. Staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. Decent service that won't make you bankrupt.

The hotel is located in the heart of Taksim and is very close to the metro station. There is a lift in the mansion. Receptionists, Fesih and Seper are really kind, patient, and helpful. Unfortunately, Taksim is rather a noisy area where is not preferred by everybody. Cheap local restaurants can be easily found nearby. One is just at the... More

Great hotel. Perfect staff. Very friendly and cosy. Rooms are clean and tidy. The only thing that you can be bothered about is size of the room and noise from the street with bars. However it is worth to stay there if you are not going to spend all day long at home

There's no words to describe this filth. This is not a hotel, but a house for mold. There are wretched smell from the bathroom. The sheets have holes and cigarette burns. I stayed on the 6th floor and the ceiling was leaking. I crouched on my bed so I don't touch the disgusting mold filled bed frames. Do NOT stay... More

I stayed in this hotel during every trip to Istanbul. The tips of Mustafa (the owner) are highly appreciated. The rooms need refurbishment although the location of the hotel is strategical for an independent traveler as I am. The windows sound proofed, AC working. Will come back for sure as I made friends in there. Wishing all the best to... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
