Our first trip in Istanbul combined with great accomodation. In the best area of Istanbul ( Sultanahmet is called) everything is 3 minutes walk. Aya Sofia, Blue Mosquet and Top Kapi ( and many more) The hotel is very clean, everyday they clean it and change towels and sheets. I want to say something for the staff. Me and my... More

I find hatchet job reviews useless, so I will first stress the positives. First, the location is unbeatable: central all the greatest hits of old Istanbul, the places you really have to visit. Walking distance to enough top notch sites to fill a week. Second, the physical facility is pretty tasteful, decor is subdued, even elegant. The rooftop breakfast room/bar... More

The location of Burckin Suites cannot be faulted, with it being slap bag in the the middle of Sultanahmet, very close to a tram stop and the blue mosque/hagia sofia. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and the hotel's position allowed us to use it as a very effective base for seeing the sights on foot (and then using the... More

We stayed at the Burckin and were most pleased with the quality of our room and the service given us by the Attentive staff. Although we arrived well before the stated check-in time, our room was ready and waiting for us. This afforded us an opportunity to sight see for the full day, without having to return to the hotel... More

I booked a room at the Burckin based on good reviews on this site, so I feel compelled to offer another opinion. The first day they gave us what they said was their only room available, and it was not at all what we had requested. The room was tiny, and so dark that we had to use phones for... More

Convenient hotel with very helpful staff. Rooms are medium size but clean. Hotel is at walking distance of most top attractions and next to public transport, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was quite well and healthy.

We stopped in their 6th floor lounge for a drink on our last night while waiting to go to the airport. The drinks and service were fine, but the view of Hagia Sophia and the Bluye Mosque were OUTSTANDING! What a send off!

Myself and my friend stayed at this hotel last weekend. Although we arrived in the early hours of the morning a long time before check in, we were still given our rooms immediately. The hotel was clean, modern with an exotic Turkish twist. Our room was slightly on the small side and there was not much space in the wardrobe... More

The hotel is situated in a very central location (the area of Sultanahmet) and from its terrace you can see two of the most prominent symbols of the city: Agia Sophia and the Blue Mosque and a wider view of the city reaching from the Ataturk bridge to the Asian part. The terrace is a nice space with plenty of... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
