I would give 5 star rating but we didn't like the breakfast! Εxcept that ,the hotel is in a very good neighborhood (sultanahmet) ,very safe ,full of shop and 100m from tram station. Grand bazaar is around 3 blocks away , Hagia sofia and blue mosque can be reached in 5-10 min walk . Staff was polite and helpful! Our... More

We were told by a young couple that this was a fabulous quaint hotel, and it is indeed 'quaintish'. The decor is dark timber, very dated, but okay if you don't mind it a little dreary. It was clean, and the bathroom had a modern shower set-up. The hotel is situated in the old part of Istanbul called the Sultanahmet... More

I have stayed twice in two years at this property. Its very close to everything. Grand Bazaar, Mosque, tram, rest, stores etc. What I really like is the view from the terrace. The staff is very friendly. I felt very welcomed. The included breakfast buffet could use an update and change of menu. Strongly recommend for its location, view and... More

The stars are because of the accessibility misinformation. This hotel showed to be wheelchair accessible and path of travel. I requested an accessible room when booking. It was NOT. From the street to the lobby was 13 stairs down without a railing! They said 'these are the only stairs'. When you can't walk that is not accessible. In the end... More

The only good thing going for this hotel is the great location. Only one or two staff are friendly enough to speak. The hotel room is extremley small and beware there are no drawers for clothes, just a small wardrobe with most of the space being taken up by the fridge and safe. Most of our clothes were piled on... The room was really nice, very good breakfast and the view from the roof is amazing. Short walk to tram station and Sultan Ahmet key attractions. I recommend this hotel if you planning to stay in Sultan Ahmet aria.

Great views from several bedrooms and especially the top floor balcony bar, which looks right over the Hagia Sophia, very central for the trams and key attractions, making it a great base from which to see Istanbul's main sights.

We stayed here for two nights while passing through Istanbul. The hotel is well placed and a good base for setting attractions and going to restuarant . I may be bias but I think we had one of the best views from our room. We were on floor five and on the corner of the building so had a clear... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
