Stayed here for 3 nights. This is a very homely stay in Istanbul. Among the highlights are the vicinity to tram station, touristic area like Blue Mosque, grand bazar, accessibility to restaurants, cembarlitas hammam etc. We took 1 BHK for 3 people which came with a small kitchenette. The rooms were nicely furnished and sufficient for 4 people/couple with kids.... More

we stayed for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. owner was very kind and helpful. the place though slightly on a downhill side, still provide a good view from the balcony and it's quite central with the main tourist site just around the area. all are on walking distance i.e aya sophia, blue mosque, underground cistern, topkapi palace..etc. you... This in a sort of small hotel, without food service, with rooms equipped with a small kitchen. They also provide a daily room cleaning. For cooking, there are not too many tools, but maybe if you need some more they 'll help you; we did not ask anything, but the staff have been always nice. We've been in a room... More

A'la house is definitely the best option in Istanbul. The location is great, close to all the touristic attractions in Sultanahmet and with easy access to public tramway to go to any other place in the city. A lot of convenience stores and mini-markets around the hotel. The staff is helpful and welcoming, always available for anything you could need.... More

Although at the beginning we had a bit of a clash with the owner things got better quickly and I have to admit that this place has been a very nice place to stay. No frills but everything in working order and the kitchenette in the room for 3 turned out to be a great thing to have to cook... More

Location is very good as you can walk to all tourist attractions but keep in mind that it is downhill and it is quite a steep uphill/downhill walk. Supermarket and post office are also close. Post office has a very good exchange rates and you can find it also at the airport - it is the last one in the... More

This aparthotel is located in the historical centre (Sultanahmet- Fatih) near the main historical attractions (Blue Mosque, Topkaki Palace, Hagia Sophya and so on). Moreover, it is next to Cemberlitas tram station (3 minutes by foot through a steep street). You will enjoy a breathtaking view from the terrace on the top of the apart hotel. I have to underline... Father and son team that run this place are fantastic. It's super clean and comfortable, with a fantastic rooftop terrace with beautiful views of nearby mosques...and the waterfront. When we were there, there was a birds' nest on the far side of the roof with adorable babies we could watch. Place is only a short, authentic (as opposed to touristy)... More

Very helpful staff, bigger rooms than most places, great amenities with kitchen and ideal location. Only negative is there is no lift. So it might be a little difficult if you have joint problems. Overall good experience and would recommend.

With my friends, we stayed in this lovely hotel placed in an excellent point in Istanbul. Near to the most attractions in the city, we walked to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Grand Bazar etc and is also very near to the tram or shops and restaurants. The hotel is clean, staff friendly, and a very nice terase on the... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
