Nothing was too much trouble or too much of a problem at The Neorion. Many travellers before us had supported this hotel on Trip Advisor and the tribe delivered again. From the nice touches like complimentary mezze service each afternoon, sunset drinks on the rooftop terrace and a generally easy going approach to extra services and billing the Neorion consistently... A really friendly hotel ,with complimentary food, and drinks at afternoon tea time, and rooftop sunrise drinks..breakfast as well. The room was pretty good with two bathrooms, separate living areas for our son and us. The spa facilities were really well presented, but the prices for the massages etc were quite pricey...the staff were informative, and nothing was a problem..like late check outs etc..we were... More

All the strengths of this Hotel have been highlighted by recent reviews and we agree. However, the Hotel has a problem at present with using their street address access. Upon arrival we could not enter the front door to reception/lobby and lounge area. However our taxi driver found the current access around the corner in the Mese Cafe, which is... More

Outstanding level of service and attention to detail. Exceptional amenities, comfort, cleanliness and hospitality in the best of locations. So good I couldn't fault a thing (and I'm the fussy type!) Highly recommended, don't even look at the others.

We found the Neorion to be a great place to stay in Istanbul. It was very convenient to the tram to go to the Asian side, and the front desk has the cards for the public transportation system (you have to load money on the card). A 10 minute walk gets you to the main sites of the Blue Mosque,... More

Chosen because of previous reviews and the fact that they could offer a family suite at a decent price when most hotels don't! Our children are 12 and 15 which the majority of hotels don't class as children anymore meaning you have to buy 2 rooms. The suite was perfect for us, basically 2 interconnecting rooms with 2 bathrooms. The... More

We had a great experience here. The staff was always on hand for advice on touring. So close to tram stop and to the sights. A short walk to the water and to the sights. The turkish bath in the hotel was wonderful after a long day on our feet. Mostly the hotel has a sense of wanting to do... More

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. They provided complimentary transfer from the airport, which was most welcome, not least because this was our first time in Istanbul. Personal greeting and induction on arrival at the hotel, by a most charming lady named Loretta, with a complimentary drink. Very nice Superior Room on 6th floor, with small balcony with bits... The hotel has a central location in the old town - Tram line is only a few feet away and 3 minute walk to the tram stop and central Istanbul train station - the staff is extremely helpful - when you arrive the concierge takes you aside and helps you plan your stay weather it was the fist time or... We stayed at another (also excellent) hotel for the first part of our trip, then visited Cappadocia and decided to stay at the Neorion for the last few days of your stay in Istanbul. It was a very good decision. We booked the Neorion based on its reviews and it lived up to them and more. Extraordinarily helpful and friendly... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
