Although it was quite a while since i stayed at Bada Bing in September 2015, i had said that i would right a review so better late than never. Upon arrival in Istanbul (due to my poor navigation skills) i was very flustered and disorientated finding my way to the hostel in the rain, but as soon as i walked... More

Ok, So I did not make it to the hostel. As a matter of fact I changed my mind and decided to not to go to the hostel and chose some place else. I cancelled the booking more than one month before the arrival date. I have been waiting for the past month to refunded but the have not. Every... More

Friendly staff with a nice bar and breakfast included. Wifi was fast and there is a computer to use as well. There was also parking outside the front of the hostel that was extremely helpful. Staff always gave honest reviews of everywhere and were great to talk to. Would definitely stay here again

We arrived in Istanbul with the plan to stay at Bada Bing for 2 nights and switch to another one after in order to be in different parts of the city. It is off-season so we had an 8 person room for ourselves (2 people)! After the 2 nights we decided to stay there for the full trip (6 nights)... More

Bada Bing is a little hard to find but i do like the area of Karakoy as there is great access to everything from here. There were not many guests when i stayed so i had an 8 bed dorm to myself. I could not imagine staying here when it was full. Very small room and limited electrical. Bathrooms were... More

The hostel staff are incredible friendly and helpful while the space a well designer and full of fun details like hand made tables, antique doors, and hand painted details. It's a great place to be, and very centrally located to all the big sites.

Was all going fine until I noticed two items of make up had disappeared from my room (a private room behind three locked doors). Turned the room upside down before alerting reception. The only possible explanation was that the cleaner took these items. Which the story changed over and over with them saying no one has even been in there... More

This hostel has one mayor advantage: location. very close to istiklal and tram-stations. We had a problem with our toilet with flooded :). General staff is friendly. A bit too much: you should see this and we have a great tour for it. Breakfast on the rooftop is basic and nice. We only stayed at the hostel to sleep and... More

The hostel facility was pretty nice. The showers were cleaned every day. Make sure to check that the toilet paper has not run out as it was frequently out in my experience. The rooms were air conditioned, but in my room the a/c blew directly on the top bed of one of the bunks so that person often had shut... More

The reviews make this out to be a really good hostel which it simply isn't, hence my thinking in giving this a 2/5. By foot, the Karaköy district is close to trams, ferries and metros, however given its nature as a port area with little else around, the hostel could do with offering much more advice with how to find... Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
