I stayed here for three nights. The guy who received me was a very friendly and helpful guy. Clean room, although quite small, and only 2 power outlets for 6 beds. Some guys at the desk should study a bit more about Istanbul though. I asked about where to find the golden gate, and the guy had no idea what... More

The best thing about this hostel is the location, on top of being a nice, clean place run by fun, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms have everything you want a hostel dorm to have (comfy bunk beds, lockers, a door that locks, quick access to a toilet and shower, etc.). The common room on the top floor and outdoor... We booked a private room at Bada Bing - based on the good reviews on Tripadvisor and Hostelworld.com. Once we actually arrived at Bada Bing and checked into the room, we were severely disappointed - the room did not look anything like the pictures and was very poorly lit as there was merely any natural sunlight into the room. On... More

Overall this hostel defiantly shouldn't be one of the top hostels in Istanbul. First they don't let you check in until 3pm and they don't even change the sheets. If you want to have clean sheets please ask them. They do have a nice roof top bar and terrace, but the beer is over priced and you can't bring any... More

Great location, easy to get everywhere. Very friendly and helpful staff - Soner, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly went out of their way to ensure comfort. Great atmosphere, lots of fun on the rooftop! Great place to exchange travel stories and catch a breeze! Reasonably priced drinks. The bedrooms were fine, had a bit of a tricky lock... More

Minutes after booking Bada Bing online, Soner e-mailed me with a warm and insightful welcome email complete with directions from the Airport (and other travel hubs). We made it easily on the recommended route and checked in with no issues. Soner was at the front desk when we arrived and got everything squared away quickly, providing us with helpful information... When I arrived in the morning by train I wanted to check in, but only aviable after 3.00 pm. But the warm and friendly stuff was so helpful that I will come back for next time. For this price you get what you want: free WIFI, free towels, kitchen, good breakfast, nice and fancy environment and especially the good location... More

Bada Bing has delivered from our first booking request. We quickly received an email with directions to the hostel and a reply to our request about transport assistance from the airport. The hostel has been very helpful in accommodating our need for extra nights. They upgraded our room free of charge to a very spacious 2 rooms with 2 large... More

Bada bing is a brilliant hostel. The staff always friendly and could not have been more helpful during our stay. It's a really fun place to be. There is a nice bar up stairs, which is great place to meet people. Bada bing is perfectly located to strike out into Istanbul. Altogether it's excellent. I could not recommend it more.

I had nothing but good experiences at the hostel. The location was great, 15 minute walk to the old city but away from the busy touristy area, I didn't have to take public transport once. I stayed in a dorm room which was simple but clean and comfortable, as were the bathroom facilities. All the staff was super friendly and... More

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
