We stayed at the Amethyst for 3 nights at the beginning of a group bus trip. The hotel is centrally located to old Istanbul and rooms facing the street certainly have a street view, although one of the group had a view of the air conditioning units outside her window. Location is within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and... More

This is a small hotel in a fantastic location near the Grand Bazaar and tram line. I travelled with a group (Bunnik Tours from Adelaide - highly recommended) so our tour guide dealt with desk staff etc. Other staff we came into contact with were friendly. We only had breakfasts at the hotel and there was a very delicious selection.... More

I stayed at the Amethyst twice during my trip to Turkey. We arrived early in the morning from Toronto and had to wait about an hour for our room. The desk staff weren't that friendly but we eventually got into our room. The room itself was small but well appointed. We had everything we needed. We went to the pool... More

We stayed at the Amethyst Hotel twice during our visit to Turkey, once at the beginning of our trip and again at the end. For our first stay we were given a room on the 1st floor, which is conveniently right above the dining level where breakfast and dinner are served and we often used the stairs to move around... More

It has a great location, very close to the subway station..Aksaray and in front of the hotel is the tramway stop: T1 that takes you to the Grand Bazar and Hagia Sophia. The subway has direct line from the airport to Aksaray ( M1A-red line) and from there you walk about 300-500 meters. So you do not need to take... More

Thehotel isin Fatih quite ordinary from the outside. In quite a commercial area with alot of russian speakers. So if you are... More

Very helpful for our first trip to Istanbul Turkey. Had someone at the airport to pick us up and drop us off after our stay. Hotel was nice and easy walking distance to the Grand Bazaar. Everyone at hotel were eager to help with any questions and overall made our first trip to Turkey a pleasant experience.

Amethyst Hotel is in centre of the shopping area of Istanbul. If you don't like a pleasant walk you can take the metro from Aksaray metro stop less than 300 meter away from the Hotel. However if you want to enjoy an amusing walk you are not far from the Grand Bazaar and many historical places. The Amethyst is a... More
