the geography of the building, being converted from private to public function, was not conducive to ease of movement internally. reception to dining to bedroom was quite a tricky route, happily there was a lift for part of the journey. Breakfast in hotel was minimal but adequate, dining on roof top was more interesting as views were most interesting. the... More

Readers and travelers should be aware that the Sarnic Hotel is comprised of two properties. The Sarnic Boutique & The Sarnic Premiere. I made the mistake of booking the Boutique which is the older of the two. They are both in the same structure and you have to enter through one door to gain access to either side of the... More

The hotel was disappointing, definitely not a 4 star, moudly walls, problems with the shower, wires hanging out of the wall in the bathroom. Breakfast room looked sad with dirty walls, Breakfast was OK but not a 4 star quality. Complained and did get changed to another room but maybe give the room a 3 star at the very most.... More

We didn't get off to the greatest start. We arrived exhausted after a long journey to be told by the guy on reception, "I'll give you your keys in a minute, but first let me explain some of the tours we offer..." An eternity later we were shown our room where the lights didn't work. Next, we found out that... More

Sarnic Premier is the upgrade to the normal Sarnic hotel. We stayed at the hotel twice and had a good experience. Reception staff spoke good English however, some of the other staff didn't have a clue, But we're very welcoming. Rooms are small, as are most rooms in Istanbul. Blue and white theme throughout the hotel. Pillows have stitched patterns... More

I stayed at the hotel with my family during December last year and it was my first visit to Istanbul. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, I knew that I would enjoy my stay there: the location was excellent, a stroll away from all of the main attractions, including the beautiful mosques, allowing us to immerse ourselves into... Excellent location, friendly staff at the reception, management, porters, waiters, i felt at home. Clean Kitchen you can trust. The breakfast is awesome, the rooms and bathrooms are spotless and cleaned everyday, perfect heat, comfortable beds, goodnight sleep for 10 nights, a good deal for the buck will visit again soon.

We stayed at the Sarnic Premier Hotel one night before boarding a Mediterranean cruise. We had a driver waiting for my family of 6 at the airport. Our flight was over an hour late, but he was still gleefully standing there waiting for us when we arrived. Our driver got us safely to the entrance of the hotel in the... More

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2015

Just got home from a 3 night stay in June 2015. Pros: The hotel overall was comfortable enough and ideally located just a few minutes away from the major sites in the Old City. The breakfast was just OK, not anything great. Cons: The bathroom was very dirty and full of mildew. Although the halls often smelled of bleach, I... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
