It's in an obscure location, tucked in on quiet residential street beside the Aybacik Mosque which made it very very hard for us to find in the dark: many of the locals had never heard of it and the signage is off to one side, so it makes it difficult to see, if you are walking and looking for the... i don't mean it in a mean-spirited way but really, you'd arrive with the idea that since this hostel is in sultanahmet which is the central area, it will be very safe and etc. however, it was far from that, it was so hard to locate this hostel because it was in an unorganized neighborhood and the road sign was... Went for 4 days and we, my brother and I, enjoyed our time in Istanbul but stayed in my room as little as possible. The shower was hot but it was a little dirty and there were times when the water pressure was horrible. The breakfast was "free" but very small and not very filling. The bed itself was not... More

Piya is in a prime spot if you want to see all the normal tourist attractions so plus for that. Price is great and comparable for the area as well. Breakfast was the same and won't change. Unfortunately if you don't like one thing, doesn't seem like swapping was an option. Bathroom and dorm were clean and guests were respectful.... More

I booked this hotel after reading good reviews at trip advisor. Firstly the rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was same for 3 days and kinda got boring. My biggest problem was however with the unfriendly staff. No smiles, no tips on sight seeing. I booked a flight for kayseri and forgot to take a printout during day. I... More

Stayed here a few days in the low season, almost no one there so it felt like we had the place to ourselves - the staff was very friendly and there is a free breakfast. You can't beat the location if you want to be close to all the museums and touristy sights. If you'd prefer to be going out... More

I went to Istanbul on January 2014 and stayed 5 nights in Piya hostel. The hostel is quite difficult to find, but local people are usually very friendly and they will be happy to give you some information about it. The hostel is right behind the Blue Mosque, and is about 5 minutes walk from the tram stop. The rooms... More

This hostel had some pros, some cons. The hostel is very well located, about a 5 minute walk to the main sites (the directions to the hostel are a bit confusing though). The free breakfast is good (fried egg, tomato, little cold meat, cucumber, cheese, bread, spreads). However, we were in a double private room in the basement and it... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at Piya Hostel in July 2014, and cannot recommend this place more wholeheartedly. It is in a great location in Istanbul, a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet square and tram lines, and was very secure and clean. They offer a great free breakfast in the morning, and brought us up a fan after checking in... More

This is the first place where I stayed in Turkey and I must say that this was exactly what I searched for beginning of my trip. Hostel is located at old Sultanahmet area very close to all historical attractions but still spot in little bit hidden street which is not full of tourists. Place is pretty quiet with a great...
