Having stayed at various true 5 star places like the fabulous range of Morgans Hotels and Christina Ong's wonderful Como Shambala resorts, the Edition hotel was a complete let down. True 5 star places offer style and substance...the Edition is attempting style but provides no substance. 1. I requested a loft room with a terrace on a high floor -... More

We stayed there for 7 nights and really enjoyed our entire stay. The room was very nice and comfotable -- modern, very clean, and wonderful services. The lounge serves good food -- very fresh, well prepared, and beautiful. The spa facility is beyond my imagination -- with turkish bath steam room, sauna, and an amazing snow room -- with great... We choose the Edition over The Ritz using Marriott Points and couldn't have been happier. The rooms are among the nicest we'd ever stayed in and the spa and heath club ended up being daily stops. The real standout here though was the hotel staff. Absolutely everyone from the concierge to the security agents bent over backward to ensure we... More

We just returned from a 3 night stay at the Istanbul Edition. In all our travels, we have never, ever been recieved with such a warm and sincere welcome as we experienced from the hotel's staff. I had emailed the concierge Yigit Bozkurt prior to our arrival and he provided a wealth of information that was most helpful. Upon arrival... More

My wife & I just returned from a 3 nite stay at the Istanbul Edition hotel. One of the new Schrager’s hotels. In short, the hotel was great. Great room, great service, excellent gym, great spa treatments. The rooms are what you would expect from a top quality hotel, spacious, well laid out and with quality toiletries and other accessories. The service... More

We decided to stay at little out of the main area so we chose the Hotel Edition in Levent. Wow, what a terrific decision, from it's wonderfully warm staff to it's sleek and stylish rooms we had the most wonderful time in Istanbul. Only steps to the metro stop at Levent it allowed us to get around the city with... More

The Edition Istanbul hotel was an exceptional hotel in all aspects. In addition to the excellent facilities, beautifully designed spaces and rooms, where every details of the decor has been carefully chosen, the overriding attribute of this hotel is its staff. From the greeting of staff at the entrance, the reception, to the management, the guest feels genuinely welcome. The hotel's... More

as we approached the building the exterior got us a bit worried but once we stepped inside it was a completely different story. I checked out today the 17th of July after 4 nights in room 504 and i was truly sad to say goodbye to what was the nicest, kindest, warmest and most hospitable team I have had the... More

Staying in Besiktas

Neighborhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighborhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
