Basileus is located in a relatively quiet street a 5 minutes walk away from the key touristic attractions, it's clean and reasonably priced, but the key differentiators are the hosts, absolutely beyond compare in terms of attention and kindness. They made our day, every day, with great advice and attention. Highly recommend!

This hotel is very clean, well appointed and in a great location. Best of all though is the staff. Family run the brothers are incredibly helpful from suggesting where to go, providing map and directions or booking a taxi making sure price is fair. We had an hour to kill before our flight and decided to wait at the hotel... More

We stayed in the Basileus hotel for three nights in July. The staff were very helpful and always willing to answer any questions we had. The room was spacious, well appointed and very clean. The breakfast which was included in the price was excellent with a good variety of cereal, fruit, omelet and other Turkish delights plus percolated coffee and... More

We stayed here in March, it's a fantastic hotel in a great location. 5 minutes walk to the Hippodrome, Blue mosque and Ayasofya. Clean, comfortable and well furnished rooms. Breakfast was good, but if you want cooked eggs you have to ask. No one asked if we wanted any but I saw others ordering. Staff are lovely and will try... More

This hotel is just perfect in every way, from the location to the attitudes of the staff. It is located in prime position and easy to get to all the main attractions of Istanbul. The owners ate extremely helpful and actually go out of their way to help you even if it is not related to the hotel. I wouldn't... More

Hotel well placed in old city within 5-10 minutes easy walk of major attractions and restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room adequate size. Only downside was being in room on ground floor no noise from outside, only from guests returning after night out. Another matter for housekeeping to address is that, on first night, one of the bath towels... More

The exterior of this hotel disguises the most warm and friendly interior. The brothers that run the hotel really make you feel part of their family and we felt sorry to leave at the end of our stay, The foyer doubles as a lounge room where you can consume the lovely cakes that are left for afternoon tea and chat... Having spent months researching and reading reviews of Istanbul hotels, this one looked a good choice. I have to say it is the Best!! From the moment we arrived and were given Turkish tea before we had even checked in. We were shown what travellers to Turkey have noted from the earliest times, that hospitality for which the Turks are... More

Ekrem and his brothers run this boutique hotel and were very helpful and kind. They run a restful, tasteful boutique hotel and the rooms are a good size. Very reasonable price for a hotel in Istanbul. All their recommendations of where to go etc were very good. They have water, herbal teas and chai tea plus yummy cakes and biscuits... More

We stayed 5 nights and have a very positive experience. The breakfast was very good and lots of choices were available. We especially loved the made-to-order omelet as egg dishes just don't show up at breakfast. The owners were especially nice and helpful. The location is a five minute walk to reach the Blue Mosque area and a very safe... More
