This is fundamentally a nice property that should be 3+ stars. Centrally located on busy Taksim Square, this is a place for the younger set who likes action. It is not a romantic hideaway. The rooms are very nicely decorated and clean, and there is a good roof-top restaurant. We had a comfortable king-size bed, and a great view of... More

- Hardly visible front entrance opposite Taksim Square - Standard room on the 8th floor os TINY, in fact I don't think you can call it a room. A broom closet is a better description. Literally 90% of the room is taken up by the bed. You can't lay two luggage bags on the floor. I asked for another room... More

The hotel has an amazing location across Taksim Square and at the top of Isekal Street, and it's proximity to really good public transport and a wide variety of restaurants and liveliness redeems the hotel a few of its sins. The rooms are average looking and averagely clean with a breakfast that is woefully not up to par. Frontline staff... More

I checked into the CVK Taksim hotel from 01-05 June 2015. Tonight is infact my last night. The location of the CVK Taksim is fantastic, located on Taksim square and one street away from Istiklal Cadessi. 3million people walk through this street each day. The hotels first errror was that despite numerous confirmation emails the hotel shuttle did not turn... More

Arrived at almost 1am after a late flight and long wait at the airport for visa, ready for a good nights rest to be told that the hotel was overbooked and my reservation must have been caught in a technical glitch in their system - even though I had a printed receipt and had pre-paid. They offered a room in... More

Friendly and helpful staff, very centrally located on Taksim Square and transport, reastaurants and bars. The bed was very good, had good linens, the curtains were effective in blockingout the light from the large window, air condition was effective. At negetivies poor wifi reception, busy street feeding into Taksim square, a lot of traffic noise, breakfast was below average.

Avoid the restaurant except for breakfast. Tastely and boring. Do NOT over look the square unless you want the amazing rallies and demonstrations with drums and loud singing and shouts from 10 pm to 2 am. Very alive all night. But no sleep. I loved the call to prayers since they were calming and short. But everything else was hard.... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
