One of the friendliest hostels I've ever stayed in! My husband and I stayed here for four nights in Jan/Feb with a couple of friends. The hostel is less than 5 minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque and easily accessible via Metro/Tram from the airport. When we arrived we had a really friendly welcome from Tariq who showed us to... Really enjoyed my stay here! All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The dorm rooms are some of the nicest I've stayed in. Clean and comfortable mattresses and sheets. Medium sized lockers in the room. Wifi connection is excellent. Breakfast runs 8:30-11 and is good. Bathrooms are clean, showers have hot water. View from the rooftop bar is beautiful even... More

One of the best hotels in which I've stayed over more than 5 years of solo travel. Very friendly staff, great breakfast, unbeatable location. Highly recommended!! Ahmet was so welcoming and provided very practical and useful advice to navigate the city of Istanbul. Sinan too was always up for good chats. And your 2015 NYE Party was the bomb! I... More

Cheers was one of the best hostels I've stayed at in two years of traveling. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the facilities were nice, free lockers and towels, a huge free breakfast every morning that lasted until 11 (way later than most hostels) and the location was just perfect. The hostel attracts relaxed and fun travelers and its... More

Cheers Hostel is hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed at while traveling. The people at Cheers are extremely friendly and make sure to create an environment that facilitates friendships to grow among the other people staying there. The hostel is in an extremely good location as it is only a minutes walking distance from the city's biggest... More

We stayed here for one night me and my two friends in a triple room. I have to say there is nothing as such which I say I didn't like. From people Ahmed, Sinon, Olga to Our Zaman(The Golden Retriever) quite a Dude, from room cleanliness to breakfast with a special coffee served(for which I visited twice here to meet... More

We came to Istanbul for a week over a NYE 2015/2016. It was a great choice for this time of year. At Cheers you feel like at home, its very cozy, people working there make you feel welcome and comfortable- at any time of the day! If you're looking for a party, there is a rooftop bar overlooking Hagia Sophia.... More

Stayed here twice, once by myself (dorm) then a week later with my girlfriend (private double). Had the cosiest and comfiest sleeps, hot showers, fresh breakfasts, and beers on the rooftop bar. Beds were really clean, new crisp linen. Very welcoming hosts, Tariq, Ahmed, Olga - all remembering my tricky name! Highly recommended, a great place to meet fellow travellers... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
