Stayed for a week from 5thAug 2005. Room 316 (5th floor facing the sea). Had gone with family (Kids 1.5 and 4) Very nice hotel. Very helpful staff. Neat and clean rooms. Spacious. Most importantly it is right on the edge of the Bosporus. The Tram way is a min away. Ferries 30 steps. Lots of choices of food. Night... More

The Hettie Hotel is more than perfectly located. It is just at the end of the Galata Bridge from Karakoy side. Few meters away from the tram station. Just at the hotel front door you can find Starbucks, Pharmacy, Ice cream, Simit, and a number of restaurants with a variety of offerings from sandwiches to fresh seafood. Just at the... More

Absolutely incredible waterfront views. Clean and inviting accomodations. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very convenient to Galata / Beyoglu attractions. Right next to Tram as well. Fish restaurant on 6th floor was great for dinner. We would stay again.

We loved this hotel, views to die for, friendly staff, close to the tram (which travels to the old city and is easy to use) and surrounded by restaurants. This hotel was a pleasure to return to at the end of the hustle and bustle of the day.

We needed a hotel close to the cruise port for one night, and this hotel was exactly what we were hoping it would be. It was well appointed, very comfortable, had a friendly staff and was in the perfect location. It also had free wifi and was also VERY well priced! We didn't make it up in time for the... More

We stayed four days in tis good hotel Staff was very kindly, the best is its position, between Galata and Sultanhamet. In 10 minutes you can walk up to the galata tower, in 10 minutes you can walk on the galata bridge (nice) and visit the spices' bazaar. Near the tramway stop (2 minutes' walk).

The fish restaurant on the 5th or 6th floor has a super 180 degree panoramic view. The fish is absolutely cooked to perfection and the waiter takes you over to the display of fish to pick from. We had a mixture of hot and cold starters – the crab claw was lovely as was the wine leaves. The main course... More

Amazing experience with the staff, delicious and generous breakfast, Ideal location, rooms were clean. Very convenient in between historical sites - walking distance - and nightlife/souks not too far. Great view from the breakfast room. Staff was so helpful and the Chef, a lovely lady, preparing delicious breakfasts.

Staying in Karakoy

Neighborhood Profile
Karakoy
Sitting pretty with an age-old air about it, Karakoy is situated on the European side of the Bosphorus at the mouth of the Golden Horn. Perhaps the city’s most historically significant area, it’s currently one of the most happening parts of town as well. Here street vendors and alfresco fish restaurants line the banks of the Horn where the views of major attractions across the water rival Karakoy’s own key attractions, such as the iconic 14th century Galata Tower and the Museum of Modern Art. A major hub for local and international waterborne traffic, Istanbul’s commercial and maritime heritage remains as relevant and evident as ever in Karakoy. Commuter ferries mingle with luxury cruise liners at its busy port, ensuring a continuously cosmopolitan flow of people..
