I have stayed at this hotel 4 times this year while on business in Turkey. The hotel has been undergoing a refurbishment program during this time. It’s a shame that this work lacks attention to detail and a professional finish. The interiors are high stud, an older era of design, uncovered marble stairs (pity the glue marks from previous carpet... More

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during August 2015.Awesome location, within walking distance of nightlife, shopping & restuarants. The hotel is undergoing some renovation hence the reception area is not up to scratch at the moment. However the staff friendliness, rooms, beautiful roof top views & spa totally make up for this.Semih Vurgun at reception ensured my stay at the hotel was... I stayed at this hotel for one night before going to Gallipoli, and for 2 nights after Gallipoli. The room for the one night was bright and spacious, although there was scaffolding outside the window and lots of noise. The room was well appointed and had a real feel of luxury about it. The bathroom was elegant and had essential... More

I stayed at Donizetti hotel for one night in April 2015. It is located at a quite central area with tons of restaurants and bars around. The building is a historical one, beautifully renovated but I did not expect such a gorgeous room. In the middle of Istanbul it is difficult to find such a spacious, almost like a living... More

Excellent location. Nice rooms. Nice hammam. Very chaotic breakfast. Sometimes missing coffe, sometimes bread. Breakfast restaurant on hotel roof is good idea(view to Istanbul is fantastic) but is rather dirty, needing renovation. The wirst things in hotel are lifts. Very slow, very offen blocked and both are very small.

We stayed there for 4 nights in May. Unfortunately they are currently renovating the hotel so it was a bit noisy from time to time and the whole building covered with sort of a mantle. But therefore our room was new and already renovated. Furniture and interior is nice, bathroom and bedroom are of a good size - I loved... More

Great place to stay centrally located to all the great site, surrounded by eateries thru out. Hotel staff could use a little more English speaking staff, but it a challenge which makes it all more fun. The corner suit overlooking the city is great. Morning breakfast is enough to get you started for the day of site seeing. Would I... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighborhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
