This hotel is ideally located, being just round the corner from the Hippodrome and Blue Mosque and only a short walk from the other major tourist attractions, It is also easy walking distance from the tram stop which makes travelling around really easy. Being on a side road it also has the advantage of being nice and quiet. The staff... More

My mother and I stayed at the Sultan House from June 24-28 of 2015. At firs glance I thought the Hotel was a lovely hotel with the ideal location. It is literally 4 minutes walking distance to the major landmarks (Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Horses Square the Hop on Hop of Bus and the local... More

Writing this review brings back an awesome memories, I stayed with my family in this hotel for 2 weeks, since I chose the hotel I was worried that my dad might not like it since he's a bit tough in his judgments.. But it turned out to be an awesome choice alhamdulellah! Probably for the following reasons, 1. Reasonable prices.... More

The main reason I'm giving a low rating is cause I couldn't enjoy wifi access in the comfort of my bed, which had sharp edges which I hurt my head on a few times. There was only one bathroom in two rooms which was not very good for a family of nine with one double bed and 5 small beds.... More

We stayed here for a week and found this a convenient spot. Round the corner form the main square and the Blue mosque. We used the excellent and cheap Istanbul tram service to get around - short walk across square to the nearest stop. Good buffet breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms kept clean and neat. Family run place -... More

My partner and I stayed at the Sultan House Hotel last week as part of a British Airways break. We had arranged an airport pickup through the hotel and were pleased we had done so as the traffic was horrendous. I dread to think what an airport taxi would have cost as the driver had to make a detour due... More

Very friendly staff, good location, very clean and overpriced. I say this because we stayed here one night and then I was able to find much better prices that were closer and didn't involve hiking up a pretty steep hill to see the Sultanahmed sights. My mother has mobility issues and she really struggled with this location. It also can't... More

This little hotel is run beautifully by Ramazan and his staff; Sofi, Osman, Hussein, a great breakfast chef and the house keepers. They are genuinely happy to serve you. I'll definitely stay here again. Mateen A. Javied, Canada

We stayed here as a group of 12 in the first week of June on our last leg in Turkey. As a spot it's perfect with less than 5-10 minutes from all attractions like blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace, spice bazaar, grand bazaar and the tramway. It's a dream spot! We stayed at the apartment block that's a few... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
