Comfortable and enjoyable rooms and facilities, safe area, very friendly staff (was important for us travelling with two young kids), all contributed to our pleasant and memorable family holidays in Istanbul

Brilliant location, friendly staff and large rooms by European standards. Walking distance from Sultanamet, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Arasta bazaar. Easy access to the tram for traffic free and inexpensive transport to more distant sites. Simple but new gym, hammam (Turkish bath) is a treat. A very enjoyable stay.

That was awesome trip for us. We really enjoyed in the hotel and in Istanbul. We are perfectly welcomed. They gave us the options and the best one was private guide. We went to best places in the old city. Thank you for everything. By the way, thank you for awesome breakfast.

As a family of five, we strongly felt that its actual five star rating is a little bit of a stretch as from our experience this hotel fairly merits somewhere between three and four star rating. The hotel is located within its pleasant rather quiet surroundings, precisely five minutes walking distance from the Blue Mosque and the docks. However, this... More

We stopped over in Istanbul for 3 nights prior to our holiday proper in sharm el sheikh - first time in Turkey, loved the hospitality, food & ambience. This hotel was perfect for a mini city break - close to tourist sites, nice clean rooms, staff friendly and helpful. No one was pushy which is refreshing. Breakfast was varied, plentiful... More

Good hotel in a nice location. Rooms vary in size so it can be a bit of luck as to what you get. Clean comfortable rooms with good wifi. Clean rooms with nice breakfast. Staff were friendly especially Yunus at reception. Limited facilities but this is normal in Sultanahmet as the hotels are typically small. This was one of the... More

We spent three nights in the hotel and enjoyed it very much. Our room was clean, the amenities were great, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only issue was the Wi-Fi; the connection was very weak in our room. We often had to make our way down to the lobby to get a good signal. The best... More

Just got back after spending 4 nights at this hotel. We booked it with a rating claim of this being a 5 star establishment. We certainly paid quite a bit more for this hotel than many of the other highly rated hotels in the vicinity. We also booked it because many reviews indicated that it is located close to many... We are family of four and enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Istanbul. The hotel reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The family room was comfortable and clean. Our children slept on foldaway sofas, which were adequate. Bathroom was clean and shower worked well. Breakfast was included and a lovely roof top area. The food was ample and... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
