The hotel is located in the center of the ‘old city’, characterized by narrow congested lanes & old buildings, which gives a definitive flavor of living in a world gone by. It is at a comfortable walking distance to the major Istanbul tourist attractions like Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Grand Mosque, Hyperdome, etc. In fact, close proximity to... More

The room was really clean and the amenities was really good, the location is great because at two block you are in Blue Mosque. If you like to run in the morning you can run begin the sea is just one block, in general they have good service and great location.

Was expecting more from a 5 star hotel. Shabby reception. Location is perfect for visiting monuments. Our bed had not been made up properly (lacking a top sheet) - it was late and we were too tired to go down to reception to ask. Anything hotel was lacking was made up for by the friendliness of the staff.

Fantastic location, clean hotel and rooms feel recently refurbished. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was small, which didn't matter, however the small bathroom meant it was quite an awkward angle when getting out of the bath. Good aircon and TV. View was lacking so ask for a room at the front of the hotel so you don't... More

Great experience at the hotel the staff was great. You also get tot use the Turkish bath in the basement for free - all you have to do is reserve it. All major sites are within easy walking distance. Restaurants abound in the area as well though you might want to walk to better restaurants near the Blue Mosque.

Hotel picture on Expedia is misleading. No sea view and in overcrowded street. Staff really helpful and I would advise all readers NOT to get a room upgrade as you are paying for a smaller room on top floor. Building site behind which does not add any extra. Restaurant was being regrouted all the time we were there. Staff most... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
